Description

This version of the America bear is a light blue coloured bear with black button eyes and a black button nose. Around it’s neck is a red, white and blue ribbon. On it’s chest is an embroidered American Flag.

Poem

In memory of those who lost their
lives in the national catastrophe that
took place on September 11, 2001
We mourn for them and express our
deepest sympathy to their families.

God bless America

Collectors note

America the Bear was introduced on 22nd March 2002 in order to raise funds for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. It raised $2 million in total for the charity.

There were three versions of the bear released: a red version, a white version and a blue version.

America was retired on 3rd April 2002.

    Has a regular ty tag. Not sure what the blue retail tag is.

    @Melinda

    Sorry for the confusion. All it means is that this is the blue version of America with the normal retail swing tag. There was another version with a Japanese swing tag. It was just to distinguish between the two bears 🙂
