Description
The Ecuadorian version of Champion is a fuzzy, brown bear with black button eyes and a button nose with the flag of Ecuador on it. It wears a gold ribbon tied around it’s neck. On it’s chest is a button with the words “2002 FIFA World Cup” on it.
Poem
Ecuador has never played as a FIFA
World Cup and they have never
beaten Brazil. Ecuador have produced a
stunning upset when they beat four-
time champions Brazil 1-0 in a FIFA
World Cup qualifier.

Champion the Bear was introduced on 4th April 2002.
There are 32 different versions of Champion, each representing the countries in the 2002 World Cup. This particular bear represents Ecuador.
Each version of Champion was retired separately on the day that the country was eliminated from the 2002 World Cup.
