Poem
The Super Eagles have long been
regarded as Africa’s best hope
for FIFA World Cup success.
On both previous appearances in
the finals, they have made it to
the last round before having
their hopes thwarted.
Collectors note
Champion the Bear was introduced on 4th April 2002.
There are 32 different versions of Champion, each representing the countries that were in the 2002 World Cup. This particular bear represents Nigeria.
Each version of Champion was retired separately on the day that country was eliminated from the 2002 World Cup.
