To honor our heroes
who lost their lives in the
national catastrophe that

God Bless America
Collectors note
Courage was released on 12th October 2001.
He is a German Shepherd/Alsatian breed of dog.
He was released in memory of those who lost their lives on September 11.
100% of the profits made from the original sale of Courage went to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund.
This version of Courage was a Ty store exclusive with NYPD on the tush tag after his name.
There were also other retail versions of Courage. There was a version with the American flag on the right leg with a swing tag with either English or Japanese writing and another version with the flag on the left leg with English or Japanese writing in the swing tag.
He was released at the same time as a Dalmatian Beanie Baby called Rescue, who was also released in memory of 9/11 and to raise funds for the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund. The sale of both of these beanies raised over $1 million for the charity in their first six months.
Courage was retired on 25th July 2002.
