Derby is made from a light brown material with black button eyes and black stitching for his nostrils. His mane and tail are made from a dark brown coarse yarn.

There are four versions of Derby. There is this version with no star (white patch) and a coarse mane, one with no star and a fine yarn mane, another version with a star and a coarse yarn mane and a version with a star and a fluffy mane. The rarest of these is the version with no star and a fine yarn mane.
He was retired on 15th December 1998.
