Description

Germania is a brown, “curly” furred bear with black button eyes and a larger black button nose. He has two ribbons tied around his neck in red and yellow and he has the German flag embroidered on his chest in red, yellow and black thread.

Poem

Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
ist der Deutschen Einheitslied
Allen Kindern brav und fein
soll dieser Bör der liebste sein!

ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Unity and Justice and Freedom
Is the song of German unity.
All good little children
Should love this bear the most.

Collectors note

Germania was released on 1st January 1999.

His Birthday is on 3rd October 1990.

He was retired on 23rd December 1999.

Germania was the first Beanie Baby to have it’s poem in another language other than English.

The first Germania swing tags had English on the back of the tag and German inside, but the German language part had a spelling error. This error was changed to the correct spelling in later swing tags and then English that was previously on the back was changed to German text.

Germania was exclusive to Germany.
