Description

Princess is a beautiful royal purple colour with a purple ribbon tied around her neck. On her chest is an embroidered rose, which is very apt since Princess Diana was also known as “England’s Rose”.

Poem

Like an angel, she came from heaven above
She shared her compassion, her pain, her love
She only stayed with us long enough to teach
The world to share, to give, to reach.

Collectors note

Princess the bear was introduced on 29th October 1997 to commemorate the tragic death of Princess Diana.

Most of the bears were filled with PE pellets, but some were filled with PVC pellets. This is because Beanie Babies were first released with PVC pellets and were later changed to PE pellets to become more environmentally friendly after Ty had talks with Greenpeace.

Princess is sometimes thought of as rare and valuable. Unfortunately in the vast majority of cases, she is not. The most valuable Princess is made in Indonesia with PVC pellets with no space and with an additional Canadian tush tag.

The bear was retired on 13th April 1999.
