Speedy was part of the McDonald’s Teenie Beanie Babies promotion which ran from 11th April – 25th April 1997. Originally, the promotion was supposed to end on 15th May 1997. However, McDonald’s ran out of Teenie Beanie Babies and ended the promotion early on the 25th April. McDonald’s issued a public apology for running out of Teenie Beanie Babies.
