They arrived! First look at the brand new “Original” Beanie Babies!

Monday, June 19th, 2023

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to say that the first series of the new 30th Anniversary edition “Original” Beanie Babies have arrived!

To be completely honest, I don’t exactly have them in my hands just yet as I am currently in Bulgaria. I had them sent to my parents in the UK where they are now sitting awaiting my return. My lovely father (thank you Dad!) sent me pictures of them for me to post up here before I get to see them in the flesh.

And here they are!

From left to right: Valentino II, Bones II and Bongo II Beanie Babies

From left to right we have Valentino II, Bones II and Bongo II.

Aren’t they just adorable! I’m glad I managed to get hold of them before they all disappear as each retailer that stocks them has been limited to 24 of each design!

Below is a view of the back of each of them.

From left to right: Bongo II, Bones II and Valentino II

They look just like fluffier, more up-to-date versions of the Original Beanie Babies I loved back in the 90s.

I have also been reliably informed that they are indeed very soft and fluffy.

New updated hang tags with a nostalgic feel!

Bones II outer hang tag

The hang tag resembles an updated version of the 5th generation tag, with a slightly different font and the text “BEANIE” and “BABY” gently curves around the word “ORIGINAL”.

Bongo II inside hang tag

The inside of Bongo II’s hang tag keeps the original poem, but his Birthday has now changed to 4th January.

The same has happened with Valentino II who now has a birth date of 6th February.

Valentino II inside hang tag

Bones II is also the same, with a poem identical to the original, but his birth date has now changed to 18th March.

I can’t wait to see them for myself, but I’m so grateful to be able to take a look at them before I get back to the UK!

More new Original Beanie Babies to be released!

Monday, June 12th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Following the huge success of the 30th Anniversary Original Beanie Babies, Ty have announced a further four Beanie Babies!

The first series consisted of redesigned versions of the Beanie Babies, Valentino, Bones and Bongo. The new versions are named Valentino II, Bongo II and Bones II.

They have now been officially retired by Ty on 2nd June 2023, although I have heard they can still be found in small retailers/candy stores.

They have proven to be incredibly popular, so Ty have now announced the release of a second series!

There will be four different designs in this set, again based on previous Beanie Babies, but who knows? If they are as popular as the first series was, maybe we could see some brand new designs (I hope so!).

The four Beanies announced so far are Snort II, Squealer II, Peanut II and Peace II. They are based on Snort, Squealer, Peanut and Peace respectively.

Snort II

Snort II is very similar to the original Snort design. However, he is made from a much softer, plush material and his hooves, snout and horns are yellow rather than cream coloured.

Squealer II

Squealer II is pale pink with a violet-blue snout, ears and curly tail. His design is not that different to the original version, but for some reason the violet colour change makes him look so much different.

Peanut II

Peanut II is very different in colour from the original. Saying that, Peanut was originally released in royal blue before her light blue colour. I really like her new fuchsia pink-purple colour.

Peace II

Peace II is very different to the original tie dyed Peace. He is a bright yellow colour instead and wears a rainbow ribbon. He still has the signature peace symbol embroidered on to his chest.

My thoughts on series II…

I’m really excited that Ty have decided to release a second series of the new Original Beanie Babies. Peace II and Peanut II are probably my favourites in the new series. However, I really hope that we see some brand new designs and that this will become the start of a new range of the older style Beanie Babies!

The Original Beanie Babies are Back!

Sunday, May 28th, 2023

Hi everyone!

I have some exciting news for you all…the Original Beanie Babies are back!

Ty have released three new “original” style Beanie Babies to mark the 30th Anniversary of Beanie Babies! They are essentially re-designed versions of previous older generation Beanie Babies that you will no doubt all be familiar with but with slight differences and made from a much softer material.

Bongo II

Bongo II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

The first of these is Bongo II. He is based on the original Bongo with a brown tail and even shares the same poem:

Bongo the monkey lives in a tree
The happiest monkey you’ll ever see
In his spare time he plays the guitar
One of these days he will be a big star!

However, his Birthday is different and on 4th January instead of 17th August.

Bones II

Bones II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Bones II is a lighter, caramel brown version of the original Bones. They are very similar in appearance but this version has very soft fur.

His poem is:

Bones is a dog that loves to chew
Chairs and tables and a smelly old shoe
You’re so destructive all would shout
That stopped, when his teeth fell out!

His Birthday is on 18th March instead of the original Bones’ Birthday of 18th January.

Valentino II

Valentino II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Valentino II is perhaps the most different from his original counterpart. The original Valentino was a white colour with a red ribbon and heart, but this has been changed to a bright red with a white ribbon.

Valentino II’s Birthday has been changed from 14th February to 6th February.

His poem however remains unchanged and is as follows:

His heart is red and full of love
He cares for you so give him a hug
Keep him close when feeling blue
Feel the love he has for you!

Where will the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies be available?

So far, Ty have stated that these will only be available in limited supply from selected small retailers. Each retailer will only receive 24 of each Beanie Baby and when they’re gone, they’re gone!

My thoughts on the new “original” Beanie Babies

As a child, I collected the original Beanie Babies back in the 90’s, so I’m extremely excited that I will hopefully be getting my hands on them all!

They have a nostalgic vibe about them but with the modern twist of being made with a softer material.

I am hoping that this is a sign that Ty will bring back the original Beanie Babies, and not only occasional/commemorative releases. I would love to see them re-release older Beanie Babies, for example, the Original Nine and maybe some of the cats (I’m thinking Chip or Prance!), but I would also love to see some new designs too!

All of this is just speculation though.

What do you think? Will Ty bring back the original Beanie Babies product line? Or is this just a one-off release?

Spring has Sprung! – Introducing the new Ty Beanies for 2023!

Thursday, February 2nd, 2023

Hi everyone!

A lot has been going on around here lately. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and recently Ty announced this year’s selection of 2023 Valentine’s Day Beanies!

We have also added the brand new Beanie Birthday Finder feature to the website to help you find out which Beanies have Birthdays on a specific day!

Now for some more exciting news…

Introducing the new, upcoming Ty Beanies for Spring 2023!

There is a great selection this year and I’m really excited get hold of them!

The Easter/Spring collection

Ty have released a great selection of specific Spring/Easter-themed Beanie Boos and Beanie Bellies this year. Following on from the 2022 bunnies, April, May and Spring, there are three more bunnies to collect! They are called Peridot, Hyacinth and Bluford and I just love their springtime colours! I wonder if Ty will release any more Easter bunnies in Spring 2024 to add to this particular collection?

Ty Beanie Bellies Easter Bunnies for 2023 - Peridot, Hyacinth and Bluford

What I love about these cute little bunnies is they give off nostalgic vibes of the old 90’s Easter rabbits, Hippie, Hippity, Hoppity and Floppity. I would love to see a tie-dyed version of these rabbits akin to Hippie as I loved that pastel-coloured, rainbow bunny!

There are also two new Easter Beanie Boos!

Meet Corwin and Hops!

I am so in love with Hops! He is so colourful and bright and I adore his sparkly blue eyes!

Corwin and Hops Ty Beanie Boos

I also think little Corwin is just the cutest! I’m glad Ty have decided to switch up the design of the traditional Easter chick this year a little and feature him sitting in his very own eggshell!

There are also a couple of new Beanie Balls available for Easter. Ty have released an adorable chick and sheep called Eggy and Baasby which would make the ideal gift for Easter.

Eggy and Baasby Ty Beanie Balls

More Ty Beanies for 2023…

Ty have also announced an awesome range of brand new Beanie Boos, Beanie Bellies and Beanie Balls for this year!

I’ll show you a selection of my favourites and put a full list at the bottom for you to browse through.

Honeycomb

Honeycomb Ty Beanie Boo

Honeycomb is definitely among my favourites from the new 2023 range. I love how fluffy she is around her face and her cute little tongue as well as the airbrushing details on her eyes.

There seems to be a bit of a theme going on this time with the new “cheeky” faces, as you will see with another of my favourites…

Sherbet

Sherbet Ty Beanie Balls

Sherbet is another example of the new style of face this year. He is part of the Beanie Balls (previously Ty Puffies) range.

This range of Beanies are weighted at the bottom and fall on their feet if you throw them in the air.

I love Sherbet’s cheeky expression and there appears to be a bit of a cutesy, kawaii vibe going on at Ty at the moment as there are a few additions with a similar style.

Next up…

Snapper

Snapper Ty Beanie Bellies

How adorable is this little guy?!

Snapper is quite possibly one of my favourites this year so far! I’ve been hoping Ty would make another frog Beanie.

What I really love about Snapper is his yellow, webbed feet and huge, beaming smile that is sure to cheer you up if you’re having a bad day!

Zinger

Zinger Ty Beanie Balls

Zinger is another addition to the Beanie Balls range. He is adorable little bee, made even cuter by his rosy-pink, airbrushed cheeks and tiny red nose!

Lillibelle

Lillibelle Ty Beanie Bellies

Lillibelle is an adorable shade of cotton candy pink with matching whiskers and paw pads!

Those who know me will know that I love cats and I’m really happy to see loads of kitties available this year!

There is another cat I’m also looking forward to getting hold of…

Morgan

Morgan Ty Beanie Bellies

Morgan is the purrfect partner for Lillibelle. She is a smokey-grey colour with beautiful purple eyes. I particularly love the airbrushing to make her eyes look more intense. She also has cute, pink paw pads like Lillibelle.

Full list of Ty Beanies announced for 2023

There are way too many gorgeous Beanies to mention above, so I’ve limited it to just a few of my favourites. Below you can find the full list of Ty Beanie Boos, Beanie Bellies and Beanie Balls that have been revealed.

New Feature! – Beanie Baby Birthday Finder!

Tuesday, January 31st, 2023

Hi everyone!

Apologies for things being a little slow on the website lately. We’ve had our hands full with the arrival of our own, littlest Beanie Baby, Chloe!

Things have been a little hectic round here, although we are beginning to somewhat settle into some kind of routine and I’ve been trying to update Beaniepedia in between feeding and nap times.

I have been working my way through your Beanie requests but if I haven’t added your request just yet, don’t worry, I will do shortly.

And now for some more news I’m excited to share with you all…we have a brand new feature on the website!

New Beanie Baby Birthday feature!

If you haven’t seen it already, there is a new Beanie Birthday Finder feature on the website! You can now search for Ty Beanies with a Birthday on a specific day. For instance, you had a friend and you wanted to find a Beanie that shared their birth date, just look for the section on the right hand column that says “Birthday beanie”, enter the month and day that you want to search for and you will be able to find all the Beanies with a Birthday on that day!

You can also filter the results, for example, if you want to only show all the Beanie Boos with a Birthday on today’s date (31st January). You will then see a list of all the Beanie Boos that have a Birthday for that specific day. In this instance, that would be Ollie the Octopus, Ollie the Octopus (Medium) and Ollie the Octopus (Key Clip).

Ollie the Octopus Beanie Boo

I hope you enjoy using this new feature and find it helpful in finding out Ty Beanie Birthdays!

What do you think about the Beanie Birthday finder? Is there anything we can improve?

Ty Valentine’s Day Beanies announced for 2023!

Tuesday, November 29th, 2022

Hi everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner and lots of gorgeous, Winter-themed Beanie Boos, Beanie Bellies, Beanie Balls and Squish a Boos are now available!

Although, some more upcoming releases have now been announced…the Ty Valentine’s Day Beanies!

These Beanies won’t be available until 2023, however let’s take a look at what will be released next year.

Beanie Boos

There are three new Valentine’s Day Beanie Boos in the pipeline.

The first of these is Milena, a beautiful kitty with pale grey and pink patches. She holds a sparkly pink heart just for you!

Next, we have Beau. Beau is a Dalmatian dog with bright pink hearts for spots and a bright pink patch on her face. Her eyes have a sleepy expression that make her look adorable.

Finally, we have Esme. She is a cute little panda carrying a shiny, bright pink heart.

Beanie Bellies

Next up, we have the new Valentine’s Day Beanie Bellies!

The first of these is Heartly, the adorable little poodle. She is white with gorgeous pink fur on top of her head, on the tips of her ears and around her ankles.

Finally, we have Desi. Desi is a sweet white bear with red ears and paws. She carries a bright red heart in her paws.

Squish a Boos

The only Valentine’s Day Squish a Boo that has been announced for next year is a pink unicorn named Francy.

She is a pale pink colour with a twisted, pink and silver horn. She will be available in a medium 10″ size and a large 14″ size.

My thoughts…

I think my favourites from the Valentine’s range have to be Milena and Heartly. I love the colours on Milena (plus I’m a huge cat lover) and Heartly just looks so cute!

What do you think of the upcoming Valentine’s Day Beanies? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

New Halloween and Christmas Ty Beanies for 2022!

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022

Hi everyone!

Just in case you hadn’t already heard, Ty have announced the brand new Halloween and Christmas Beanies for 2022….and they’re so adorable!

Last year we didn’t have any new Halloween or Christmas Beanie Boos, only Squish a Boos. These were great, but I would have loved some new Beanie Boo designs.

However, this year Ty have more than made up for the lack of 2021 Seasonal Beanie Boos with both Halloween and Christmas Beanie Boos, Beanie Bellies, Squish a Boos and the brand new Beanie Balls (previously Ty Puffies)!

Here is the low down one some of my favourites. I will include a full list at the end of the post.

Salem

Salem the Cat Ty Beanie Balls

Salem is part of the Beanie Balls product line, which is the recently renamed Puffies range.

I particularly like how Ty have given him green eyes to stand out from the black of his fur. I also was a big fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the 90’s (the cat happened to be called Salem), so I’ve got to love this guy just for that.

Hocus Pocus and Tatters

Hocus Pocus and Tatters Ty Beanie Bellies

I’ve included Tatters and Hocus Pocus together as they look very similar, their birth dates are only one day apart and the appear to have the same poem according to the Ty Calendar.

I love that we are now getting some Seasonal Beanie Bellies, as I really like this product line.

Speaking of Halloween Beanie Bellies, the next spooky Beanie could possibly be one of my favourites of the year…

Bearla

Bearla the Vampire Bear Ty Beanie Bellies

There are a few things I really like about Bearla. Firstly, she’s a Vampire bear, which is pretty cool in itself. Secondly, her Birthday is actually on 31st October, which makes her truly feel like a Halloween Beanie. Finally, I love that she wears a cape. Also, I think her name is a nod to Bella from the Twilight movies.

Morticia

Morticia the Cat Ty Beanie Boo

There are two Halloween Beanie Boo cats this year. As you may already know I’m a big fan of cats, so I’m happy to see this.

It was hard to choose which cat to put on this list, as they’re both too cute, but in the end I chose Morticia, partly because she is named after the Addams Family character, but also because of her wacky colours which I absolutely love!

The other Halloween cat is called Oleander, and although he is really cute too, I had to go with Morticia.

Nordic

Nordic the Dog Ty Beanie Bellies

How could I NOT put Nordic on this list?!

Not only is he ridiculously adorable in his nordic-style hat, but his poem made me feel really sorry for him! The poem reads:

I saw presents under the tree.
They’re all you and none for me.
You’re afraid I might sneak,
Down the stairs for a peek.

How could anyone not give this little guy a present?! That’s just mean!

Gnorbie

Gnorbie the Gnome Ty Beanie Balls

I’m surprised that Ty didn’t jump on the “Gonk” bandwagon sooner! It’s about time a little gnome was introduced and Gnorbie looks just perfect for Winter in his bright red outfit.

Crispin

Crispin the Gingerbread Man Ty Beanie Bellies

Crispin is another of my favourites this year. Not only does he have the most gorgeous green eyes, but I love the striped “icing” finishing off his edges. He looks so yummy, I could eat him all up! Sorry Crispin!

Noel

Noel the Penguin Ty Beanie Boos

What I love about Noel is that he can’t decide whether he’s a penguin or a Christmas tree. Maybe he’s a both? But he looks so cute in his little costume and the star on top is the perfect finishing touch.

New Halloween Beanie Boos for 2022!

Wednesday, May 4th, 2022

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re having a lovely week wherever you are in the world! In the UK, we have just had a Bank Holiday weekend. The weather was nice enough on the Saturday that we were able to get out and about in nature, which made a lovely change.

Roam Beanie Baby at Keppel's Column, Rotherham

Anyway, the reason for this post is that I have some exciting news to share with you all…

There will be new Halloween Beanie Boos this year!

Yes, you heard that right! New stock photos have emerged with four new spooky Beanie Boo designs!

After last year’s disappointment that there were no Halloween Beanie boos for 2021, this is welcome news for us collectors!

The first of these new designs is a dog Beanie Boo wearing a pirate hat.

Pirate Dog Beanie Boo - Halloween 2022

How cute is this little pirate pup?! His hat has a skull and crossbones design on the front and he looks ready for trick-or-treating!

Next up is the first of two bat designs.

This little cutie is jet black with gorgeous green eyes and matching, glittery green feet. His ears and wings and covered in purple-pink glitter.

There will also be another bat, similar in appearance but with sparkly orange ears, eyes, wings and feet. both bats have tiny white fangs.

Finally, one of the cutest (in my opinion) Halloween Beanie Boos this year…

This adorable little arachnid has a fluffy body covered in orange and black zebra stripes. He has orange and black, striped legs and tiny, white fangs. His glitter eyes look like they will be a similar colour to Radar’s eyes.

I think out of all the new designs, the pirate dog and spider are my favourites, but they’re all really cute.

As of yet I don’t have any other information on them (names, poems, etc), so I haven’t added a page for them on the database yet, but I will update when this information becomes available.

Do you like the new Halloween Beanie Boos? If so, who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

Valentino Beanie Baby

– VALENTINO’S BEANIEPEDIA PAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE –

In this article, I want to talk about the infamous “brown nose” bear that has been subject to an astronomical amount of misinformation.

Valentino has unfortunately been targeted by some media outlets as being a “rare” Beanie Baby. Sadly, you are not going to make thousands of dollars from selling him.

Not to say that there aren’t any rare Valentino bears, as there certainly are. However, the vast majority are very common bears.

I will go into more details shortly, but first a little more about this Valentine’s Day bear.

A little about Valentino…

Valentino’s style number is 4058.

He is a brilliant white colour with black button eyes and a larger, dark brown nose. Tied around his neck is a red satin ribbon. On his chest is an embroidered, bright red heart.

Valentino Beanie Baby embroidered heart

Tag generation

Valentino was released with either a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th generation hang tag (see my swing tag guide for identifying hang tags) and a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th generation tush tag (check out my tush tag guide).

Below is an example of a Valentino bear with a 4th generation hang tag and a late 4th generation tush tag.

Birthday

Valentino’s Birthday is on 14th February 1994. He is a Valentine’s Day bear after all.

Poem

Valentino’s poem is shown below:

His heart is red and full of love
He cares for you so give him a hug
Keep him close when feeling blue
Feel the love he has for you!

Valentino Beanie Baby poem

Variations

Valentino was also released as a large Beanie Buddy. This Beanie Buddy version features a red mesh ribbon instead of the satin ribbon of the Beanie Baby. The Beanie Buddy also has a red nose.

Valentino Beanie Buddy

So what is Valentino REALLY worth?

The best way to figure out the value to any Beanie Baby, including Valentino is by using the guide in the link below.

What Are My Beanie Babies Worth?

As I mentioned further up the page, Valentino has made his way on to several clickbait articles claiming that he is worth thousands of dollars. The only purpose for these news articles is to drive traffic to their website by making you think that you have a rare Beanie.

The claim is that Valentino is worth more if you have certain “tag errors” or if he has a brown nose. Sadly, both of these claims are untrue. ALL Valentino bears have a brown nose. Every single one of them. Also, 99% of the time tag errors are not true errors, especially on Valentino.

However, there are definitely Valentino bears that are rare, just not for the reasons listed in the clickbait articles.

A Valentino with a 2nd generation hang tag is certainly worth a good amount money, anywhere between $150-700 depending on condition and whether it’s authenticated. Even a 3rd generation tag can fetch up to $70 authenticated and in mint condition.

For a 4th or 5th generation bear however, the value is drastically reduced as this was when Valentino became mass produced. Its value is around $1-15 dependent on condition.

What about the high sold values on eBay?

If you have found several high sold prices on eBay, there are several reasons for this, which I will explain below.

Fake sales: A seller sets up another eBay account, they list the Beanie at a high price, they then “buy” their own Beanie and it shows up in the sold listings, even though they have never paid for that Beanie. It drives interest to that Beanie, making people think that it must be worth something if someone has paid so much for it

Money Laundering: Criminals can move money by using selling a low value item at a very high price. It looks like the money went on a real sale.

Vigilante “buyers”: When sellers list Beanies for a high amount, vigilante bidders  teach them a harsh lesson by “buying” the Beanie, but never paying for it. It wastes the time of the seller, but this also makes the sale show up in the sold listings.

Take a look at the sold prices of Valentino on eBay in the links below:

The links below are affiliate links. If you purchase something by clicking through one of the links below, we may receive a small commission. This doesn’t cost you anything additional and helps to fund this site.

SEE VALENTINO SOLD PRICES ON EBAY UK

SEE VALENTINO SOLD PRICES ON EBAY US

As you can see from the sold listings, those who have “bought” these high value Valentino bears have suspiciously had no feedback, have been bought by a low/zero feedback buyer or been re-listed. In other words, they never actually sold for that price.

Some examples…

Here is one example below, which shows that the seller had zero feedback. You can also see that the sale never went through as the seller re-listed the item.

What is Valentino Beanie Baby worth

Another example shows the seller with zero feedback.

Valentino Beanie Baby value

Here is another “high value” Valentino “sold” to a low feedback bidder who is no longer a registered user, which indicates the account may have been banned/deactivated.

Valentino Beanie Baby value

There are countless similar examples, but here are just a selection to give you the general idea of the problems around the false information surrounding Valentino and how clickbait articles that circulate these rumours just create disappointment to genuine people.

Hopefully this article has been useful in shedding a little light on the rumours surrounding Valentino.

Beanie News Roundup – January 2022

Wednesday, January 12th, 2022

Hi everyone!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. Christmas and New Year have taken up a lot of my time with visiting family and then I caught a cold (thankfully not Covid) when I got home and had to take some much needed rest.

So what’s been going on recently in the Beanie world…

Well actually, a LOT!

The new design of Beanie Babies have been released and Ty has announced that they are called Beanie Bellies! It’s a little confusing as they still have a Beanie Babies hang tag, but maybe they will get their own hang tag one day.

The Beanie Bellies that are currently available are Wilfred, Duncan, Ace, Skylar, Clawdia, Ying, Miso and Mitzi.

New Beanie Bellies 2021

There’s some more good news too. According to the Ty Calendar, it looks like we are going to get more Beanie Bellies!

Three that stand out are Mitch the otter, Ruggles the dog, and Thunder the husky (pictured below).

New Beanie Bellies 2022

Aren’t they adorable?!

I’m still waiting for the Beanie Bellies to arrive in the UK (you guys in the USA are so lucky!), but from the pictures I’ve seen, I’m as excited for this range as I was for Beanie Boos!

There have also been loads of Beanie Boos announced (I’ll list them all in another post shortly). One that has caught my eye is Becca. She appears to be a “girlfriend” for Binky!

Becca the Bush Baby Beanie Boo

She is very much like Binky but is made from pink and purple fabrics in place of the brown colour palette that Binky has.

There are also going to be more Squish a Boos and Ty Puffies coming this year and they all look so cute!

I won’t go into the full details of them just yet (again, I will list them fully in another post), but my favourite of all these is Nessa.

Nessa Squish a Boo

Nessa is a brightly coloured caterpillar who is too cute for words!

Looking at the calendar, she will be available in a medium and large size. So far there doesn’t appear to be a small size, but who knows in the future!

What do you think of the new Beanie Bellies range? Are you excited for the new range of Beanie Boos, Puffies and Squish a Boos? Leave a comment below!
