Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you all have a great day however you will be spending it!
Crawly the spider looks like he’s all dressed up to go trick or treating!
Did you know that Crawly is available in two colour variations? Not only is he available in black and orange, he was also made in a purple and green colour scheme!
A few days ago I did a post where I compiled a list of my favourite ten Halloween Beanie Boos. In this post, I will be listing out my favourite ten Beanie Babies
As with before, this list is in no particular order.
BAT-e was a Ty store exclusive Beanie Baby. He is similar in appearance (albeit a different colour) to the earlier, Batty the bat, with the inclusion of two tiny white fangs. I love the spooky black/orange combination of some Halloween beanies! His birthday is also on 31st October!
Alacazam was released back in 2010 and with his birthday coming up in a week’s time, he’s soon to be five years old! This cute little dog has the same black/orange colour scheme as Bat-e and wears a witches hat costume.
Baron Van Pyre isn’t the first vampire bear Beanie Baby. He is almost identical to a previous vampire bear called Count. The only difference between them is Baron Van Pyre’s belt and bow-tie are made from red material and Count’s are purple. The only reason I chose Baron Van Pyre instead of Count is that I just love his name!
Fraidy is one of my favourite Beanie Babies, let alone Halloween themed Beanie Babies. I don’t know what it is about her that I love. I think it might be the eyes. She has gorgeous, bright orange cats eyes that stand out from her black fur. Fraidy was released in 2000. It was also her birthday was 10 days ago, making her fifteen years old!
Next up is Tremble. This little Scottie dog wears a cute purple dog coat. According to his poem, he is scared of Halloween, darkness, and all sorts of various things, which seems to make him appear cuter! His birthday is on Halloween, so he will be terrified when he turns eight years old next Saturday!
Ghostio is named after Romeo from the Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet. He carries a “trick or treat” bag ready to store goodies in on Halloween. He also has a girlfriend, Ghouliette, who is also a ghost.
You can’t have Ghostio without Ghouliette! This cute little girl ghost has an orange ribbon tied in her “hair”. She also holds a “trick or treat” bag, ready to go trick or treating with her boyfriend, Ghostio.
I’ve always loved Sanrio characters, so Hello Kitty had to make it on the list somewhere. This variation of Hello Kitty wears a bat costume, which is perfect for trick or treating. On her head, she wears a bright orange bow covered in black polka dots.
This little bat is not to be confused with the Scarem from the previous Top 10 Halloween Beanie Boos list. Scarem was released back in 2007, making him eight years old. I love the contrast between his star and moon covered orange wings and his purple feet and ears.
Frightful was released back in 2006 and was exclusively available at Borders stores. This adorable little cat is made from the same fuzzy material of Fraidy. He wears a cute little witches hat with a tiny bat hanging from the top of it. I really love Frightful’s deep green eyes and how the colours on his belly look like a giant candy corn.
I loved the Back to the Future movies. I remember wanting a hoverboard like Marty McFly and to travel back in time in a DeLorean.
October 21st 2015 at 4:29pm is the destination time that Marty McFly travelled to when he went to the future in Back to the Future part II to save his children who are yet to be born.
There is a Beanie Baby bear whose birthday also shares this day. Quivers the ghost bear is a Halloween themed bear. His birthday is on 21st October 2002, making him 13 years old!
If you, like me, love the Back to the Future movies, have a happy Back to the Future Day!
Halloween is nearly here! With only 11 days to go until trick or treating commences, I thought I’d compile a list of my personal favourite ten Beanie Boos!
This list is in no particular order, partly because I couldn’t bring myself to pick a favourite.
Haunt was released back in 2013. I just love the contrast between his bright orange fur and the purple of his glittery eyes. The UK release of Haunt has no birthday, whereas the USA version has a birthdate of 22nd October.
Igor is a newer release, appearing in July 2015. This little cutie has beautiful green sparkly eyes that compliment his purple-pink wings. His tiny fangs look adorable! Igor’s birthday is on 7th September.
Next up is Grimm! Based on the Grim Reaper, this little ghost holds a tiny scythe in his hands which actually makes him look more cute than menacing. Grimm shares the same dazzling green eyes as Igor and was released around the same time.
Moonlight came out back in 2012. She is a beautiful black and bright orange with spooky orange eyes. Moonlight’s birthday is actually on 31st December, perfect for a Halloween Beanie Boo!
Another ghost has made it on to the list! Treats was released at the same time as Grimm and even looks very similar. He holds a spooky carved pumpkin in his arms instead of the scythe that Grimm carries. Treats’ birthday is on 1st August.
Swoops is the first bat Beanie Boo that was released way back in 2011. I just love his little purple wings and his bright orange eyes. Swoops is not to be confused with the later barn owl Beanie Boo called Swoops. Like Moonlight, his birthday is also on 31st December!
Frights is another recently released Halloween Beanie Boo and another cat to make it on to the list. The thing I like about Frights, is the unusual eyes he has. His left eye is glittery green, while his right is sparkly orange.
Midnight was also released this year and is the second owl Beanie Boo on my top 10 list. Most of the owl Beanie Boos are of a very similar design, and what I like about Midnight is that he breaks that mould. I love his fluffy face and how his green eyes seem to pop out. Midnight the owl is not to be confused with an earlier bat Beanie Boo also called Midnight.
Scarem was released last year in 2014. His wings are what really stand out, being almost like a psychedelic, rainbow swirly pattern. His tiny fangs make him look scarily cute. Scarem’s birthday is on 11th October.
Ghosty is the oldest Beanie Boo on the list, released back in 2010. To me, he looks like a cute little marshmallow with an orange ribbon. Ghosty is actually quite hard to get hold of now. He was re-released with sparkly orange eyes in 2013.
This adorable little Schnauzer dog is named after the popular Austrian dish. According to his poem, Wiener Schnitzel is his favourite food!.
Did you know, the Miniature Schnauzer breed of dog first originated in Germany in the 1800’s. They are also known as a Zwergschnauzer (Dwarf Schnauzer) and have an average lifespan of around 14 years! Quite an age for such a little guy!
As you can see from the title, today was National Bring Your Teddy to Work and School Day!
Ty have released many teddies over the years. Beanie Babies, Beanie Boos, Beanie Buddies, Attic Treasures, Ty Classic, etc, all have various teddies all in different styles and colours.
Some teddies are rarer than others, with the Billionaire bears fetching over $200-400 each!
Some were released for charity. Aware was released to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
There have been Christmas bears, like the 1999 Holiday Teddy, St. Patrick’s Day bears, like Clover, and Easter bears like Bonnet.
Ty even released some to mark that very special day that a boy or girl is born into the world.
Did you bring a teddy bear to work or school today?
Asia the tiger, Pegasus the unicorn, Glider the penguin and Sky High the giraffe were originally thought to be only available in the regular 6″ size. It turns out that Ty have made larger versions of them also made them into key clips.
Asia is now available in 6″, 9″ and 16″ sizes and as a key clip.
Glider is available in 6″, 9″ and 16″ sizes and as a key clip.
Sky High is available in 6″, 9″ and 16″ sizes and as a key clip.
Pegasus is available in 6″, 9″ and 16″ sizes and as a key clip.
