New Site Update – Beanie Wishlist!

Monday, March 15th, 2021

Hi everyone!

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend!

Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in the UK, and my wonderful daughter (with some help from Daddy) gave me two Beanie Boos!

Meet Gumball and Dotty! They are two that I’ve been wanting for a while, but for whatever reason, I just never seemed to get round to buying them! But I’m so grateful for my lovely present, they are both so cute!

gumball beanie boo and dotty beanie boo

I just wanted to share them both with you as they are now two of my favourite Beanie Boos and soooo colourful!

Anyway, the reason for this post…

I didn’t have the chance to post about it before, but last week a couple of improvements/fixes were made to the website!

One was something that has been requested before and something I have been meaning to add for sometime…a Beanie wishlist!

If you spot a Beanie while browsing the website that you want to add to your collection at a later date and you don’t want to forget who it is, you can now add it to your Wishlist area!

To add a Beanie to your Wishlist, click on the “Add it to my wishlist” link on the right-hand side of the page (see the screenshot below):

To view the Beanies in your Wishlist, visit the area at the top of the page called “My Wishlist” highlighted in the screenshot below:

Hope this is of use to you, and if you experience any issues, please get in touch!

Also, one of our members pointed out that you were no longer able to post comments/reviews on any of the Beanies. This issue has now been fixed! My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hope you like the new Wishlist feature and stay tuned for more Beanie updates!

8th March – Beanie Boo Birthdays!

Monday, March 8th, 2021

Hi everyone!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today is a day to celebrate the achievements of women from around the world!

It is also the Birthday of four Beanie Boos!

The first of these Brunch.

Brunch is a white Spring/Easter Beanie Boo rabbit released last year and she carries a little orange carrot, ready to give to you as a present.

Next up is Mandy.

Mandy is a blue poodle and I absolutely ADORE her colour! I like the fact that Ty kept it simple with her and made her blue all over, from her curly fur to her glittery blue eyes!

The third Beanie Boo Birthday today is that of Piggley!

There were actually two versions of this cute little pig. The Piggley on the left of the image above was actually the first version back in 2016. Then, in 2017 he was re-released in the darker pink colour of the Piggley on the right.

Last, but not least, is Specks!

Specks, as her name suggests, is speckled in pink and purple all over her body. She also has beautiful, shiny pink inner ears and feet!

After that, there’s only one thing left to say!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUNCH, MANDY, PIGGLEY AND SPECKS!

New additions to the Ty Puffies range, coming soon!

Friday, February 26th, 2021

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all well today? It’s a bright, sunny day here are Beaniepedia HQ and has been feeling a lot more like Spring recently, which makes a nice change from the miserable cold, Winter days that we’ve been having up until recently. Below is a picture of Roam enjoying the flowers yesterday during a walk in the park.

roam beanie baby

As I mentioned in my last post, I want to go through a few other new faces that are going to be appearing later in the Spring.

Six new Ty Puffies are going to be joining the range and they look sooo cute!

As you may already know, Puffies are a bit like a new, updated version of the retired Beanie Ballz range, except they are a bit fluffier and so far, are only available in one size. They are weighted at the bottom, so when you throw them in the air they always land on their feet.

Prince will soon have a new friend, with the addition of a brand new pink husky called Princess!

It looks like these two will be kind of an unofficial pair, since both are huskies and they both have royal titles (Prince, Princess).

Joining her with the “pink and white” theme will be Tabor the white tiger!

Tabor was originally released as a Beanie Baby and a Ty Classic. Later a Teeny Ty version appeared, and now she will be joining the Puffies range!

tabor ty puffies

Next up is a little dog called Mandarin!

Mandarin, as his name suggests, is an orange-coloured dog with a brown patch over his right eye. I wouldn’t like to suggest what type of dog he is (I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments!), but he is really cute!

Dotty the leopard will also be joining the Puffies range!

Dotty was a rainbow coloured leopard Beanie Boo originally, but her popular design has featured across many product lines. I must admit, she is fabulous!

There is also going to be a new blue, pink and purple Puffie called Cleo!

Now, my first thoughts were that Cleo is supposed to be a cat, but after double-checking the Ty Calendar, she appears to actually be a husky, which I did not expect as she really doesn’t look like a husky at all! To me, she looks a little like a French Bulldog/Chihuahua? What do you guys think?

And finally my absolute favourite of the new Puffies….

Gizmo!

I just love the vibrant colours on this little kitty and her mismatched eyes are co cute! They kind of remind me of Heather’s odd-eyes. On top of that, I love the name Gizmo. Firstly, because Gremlins was one of my favourite movies as a kid, and also I used to have a pet rat called Gizmo (named after the main character in the movie – R.I.P. little guy!).

What do you think of the new Ty Puffies? Which is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

Introducing the new Easter Beanie Boos for Spring 2021!

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021

Hi everyone!

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been giving my daughter’s room a much-needed makeover which has taken much longer than I bargained for!

I was so disappointed that Ty weren’t releasing any Valentine’s Day Beanie Boos this year. Last year we had some adorable Valentine’s Beanie Boos, like Dainty the curly-haired flamingo and Aphrodite the pink husky, but sadly this year we had none.

However, in the Ty calendar there are a few Easter treats in store for us, as well a some other new faces joining them!

Today, I’m going to introduce to you the new Easter Beanies!

First up is Fuzzy!

Fuzzy is almost a twin of last year’s Easter rabbit Beanie Boo, Slippers. The only difference is Fuzzy is purple instead of white and they have a slightly different eye colour. Slippers is pictured below so you can compare the two.

Although I love the design of these two bunnies (their little slippers are adorable!), I’m a little disappointed that Ty haven’t at least changed the design a little as they are practically identical!

The second Easter Beanie Boo is Feathers!

Feathers, as you can probably tell, is an Easter chick. Ty usually release a chick Beanie Boo for Spring (last year we had the cute little yellow chick, Lemon Drop) so it’s not really a surprise as such. However, I think they’ve got Feathers just right! I love her pink-tinged colour which makes her look so cuddly!

As far as I know, these are the only two Easter Beanie Boos, but there will also be two new Squish a Boos making an appearance!

Bloomy is the first of these, and she will be available in both a large 14″ size and the new small 10″ size.

Bloomy is of course based on the Beanie Boo rabbit, also called Bloomy (pictured below).

The second Squish a Boo coming out shortly is Popper.

Popper is a brand new design who doesn’t have a Beanie Boo counterpart. He/she is a bright yellow chick sitting inside a white eggshell.

Popper, like Bloomy, will also be available in the small 10″ size and large 14″ size.

All of these new Beanies are due to be released either this month or next, so keep your eyes open for them!

There are also some more new faces coming out soon which I will post up shortly, so stay tuned!

I know I have quite a few emails to get through, which I will try and reply to as soon as I can and I will also be adding your Beanie requests on to the site. If I haven’t added your request yet, it should be in there soon.

Hope you’re all well, and please stay safe! (also Roam says Hi!)

Top five Christmas Beanies!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020

Hi everyone!

Christmas is almost here! In fact it’s Christmas Eve…Eve!

Today I’m going to show you five Christmas Beanies from across the Ty ranges that are just so adorable!

1. Peppermint

Now, I know I’ve shown her before, but I loooove Peppermint! She has this real minty vibe that makes her look so cute!

She has green airbrushed on her back with white spots which is a nice touch and sparkly green antlers!

2. Goody

Goody wears an oversized red Santa hat to one side and carries a large gingerbread man in his paws. It’s like he’s offering you a tasty snack. How cute is that?!

3. Nicholas

Nicholas is a cute little brown bear Beanie Boo. I just love the fact that his hat is so long that he has to hold the end of it with his paws and the white trim and pom pom are just so fluffy!

I love his green paws and inner ears too as they stand out from his brown, sparkly fur.

4. Klause

Klause is from the older-style Attic Treasures range. I mean the sort that actually look like they are old teddies that have come from an attic and often have jointed limbs. Not the newer Attic Treasures range that look more like a copy of the Bashful range made by a UK-based company called Jellycat (see my other website Jelly Collector to track Jellycat collectibles). Don’t get me wrong, I do like the look of the newer Attic Treasures, but I’m not really sure what the reason behind calling Attic Treasures is as they look too new to have come from an attic.

Anyway, Klause is just so cute and I love his adorable outfit of a long, red, velvet cloak and red hat with the luxurious green trim!

5. Kodi

Kodi is from the Ty Classic range and is so soft and cute! He wears an adorable red and green striped scarf too which is a really lovely touch. I love his blue eyes too!

Hope you’re all well and safe. Leave a comment below on who was your favourite in this list! Or who you would put in this list!

Have a great Christmas Eve Eve guys!

Top 10 Rare Beanie Boos 2020

Wednesday, December 9th, 2020

Hi everyone!

Today I’ve been filming for today’s Vlogmas video, which will be released a little bit later on. I have also been adding more of your Beanie requests, so look out for those!

For now, I’ve decided to show you what I think are my top 10 rare and hard to find Beanie Boos!

(These are in no particular order of rarity, or in order of who I like the best).

10. Slush

Slush is one of the original seven Beanie Boos.

Now Slush in himself isn’t actually that hard to find. However, I’m talking about the 1st variation of Slush.

Now the difference between this first edition version of Slush and the newer variations of Slush are the ears. Newer Slush Beanie Boos have blue inner ears and the first version’s inner ears are white. The underside of his tail is also white compared to the newer versions which have a blue tip.

2. Rasmus

Next up is the adorable moose Beanie Boo, Rasmus!

Now I had to pick a Beanie Boo here as there are actually five Country exclusive moose Beanie Boos and I didn’t want to list them all. The other four are Väinö, Harald, Birger and Egert. You can actually get hold of these guys but they are all upwards of $30 which is why I have included them. Aren’t they just so cute?!

3. Coconut

Another one of the original seven, Coconut again isn’t that hard to find, but the first version of Coconut is a lot rarer.

Earlier versions had peach coloured ears instead of the purple inner ears are the later version. The first Coconut Beanie Boos also had a solid brown tail, whereas the later versions had a purple tip. There is also a noticeable difference in the texture of the fur between the two.

4. Kiwi

Of course, I’m talking about Kiwi the frog, not the later Kiwi Beanie Boo, which is a kiwi bird.

All versions of Kiwi are hard to find, but the rarest is the very first version.

The first version had a yellow belly, chin and toes and blue button eyes. On later versions, his belly, chin and toes were light pink and his eyes were pink.

5. Bubblegum

When I’m talking about Bubblegum, I mean the original seven Koala, not Bubblegum the lemur.

Bubblegum was part of the very first UK release of Beanie Boos. He was later discontinued, redesigned slightly and renamed Kooky. Those with the original Bubblegum name are very rare.

6. Peanut

Peanut in general isn’t particularly rare, but the first variation is very hard to find.

Peanut was one of the original seven Beanie Boos that were released in the UK. All the original first release Beanie Boos were retired and replaced with eight redesigned Beanie Boos, which didn’t include Peanut. Instead, Bubblegum the Koala was renamed Kooky and a pink lemur appeared with the Bubblegum name alongside a Bush Baby called Cleo.

Later, another Peanut Beanie Boo elephant appeared, but he is not considered one of the original seven.

The first version of Peanut had pink inner ears, pink on the end of her trunk and pink toes.

7. Treasure

Treasure was one of the first Justice Stores exclusive Beanie Boos, who was released alongside Sapphire the zebra.

They were also the first Beanie Boos to feature the newer glittery Beanie Boo eyes!

Treasure is really hard to find as she was the first Justice Stores exclusive, and regularly sells for between $50-100!

(Ignore the really highly priced eBay listings. These are just the price people have listed them for, not what they have actually SOLD for. For more information on how to price Beanies, please see my What are My Beanies Worth guide).

8. T-Bone

I’m not sure whether I can actually consider T-Bone a “rare” Beanie Boo as such, but he is certainly harder to find than most, especially for a low price and in good condition.

T-Bone was actually a Trade Show exclusive that could only be obtained by Ty retailers that visited the Ty booths at one of the 2014 Winter Toy Fairs. The remaining Beanie Boos that weren’t collected, were made available for sale until they were out of stock.

I don’t know what it is but I love the chihuahua Beanie Boos! They are just co cute, so I had to include one! My favourite would have to be Nacho (because I loooove Nachos!), but I can’t really call him rare so couldn’t justify putting him on the list.

9. Waddles

Waddles was one of the original seven Beanie Boos. The later versions of Waddles were quite common, but the very first variation is really hard to get hold of.

The first version of Waddles had orange feet instead of the blue feet featured on later models. He also didn’t have blue under his wings. His fur was a slightly different texture too.

Waddles is very popular and has been released across many Ty lines, including Ty Puffies and Mini Boos.

10. Loy

Loy was a Japanese exclusive Beanie Boo. He isn’t “rare” as such, but as he was only released in Japan, he is a little harder to find in the West.

He is based on the Japanese Akita dog breed and featured a special Japanese swing tag.

I’m sorry if I missed anyone off the list! These were my personal top 10 rare/harder-to-find Beanie Boos.

Who would you put on this list?

Claire’s Exclusives – UK Update!

Tuesday, December 8th, 2020

Hi everyone!

Previously, I reviewed the Holly Beanie Boo that I had bought from Claire’s. She was released alongside two other Claire’s exclusives called Rory the kangaroo and Kora the koala in the USA but for some reason, only Holly was available in the UK (BOOOO!).

Well, I checked the Claire’s website this morning and it appears that all three are now available in the UK! About time!

Not only that, but the new mythical Teenie Beanie Boos were released in McDonald’s in the UK on 2nd December, so it’s the second bit of good Beanie news this month!

Hope you’re all well, and stay tuned for my new Vlogmas video out later on today!

Stay safe!

Vlogmas video – Day 3

Thursday, December 3rd, 2020

Hi everyone!

It’s been a wet and miserable day here today, so I’ve been busy putting up more Christmas decorations.

We decided to get McDonald’s today to try and get some of the new Mini Boos, but ended up disappointed as they didn’t have any in stock! Oh well, maybe next time!

I’ve also just released my Vlogmas video on YouTube for the 3rd December!
