Mini Boos Series 1 & 2 Unboxing

Saturday, May 30th, 2020

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday!

Today, I took a rare trip to Poundland (a discount store in the UK), as I needed some supplies. I hadn’t been there for about two months or more (I’ve lost track of time now) but was in desperate need of a few things.

While there I found they are still selling Beanie Boos. The same faces were there from before (Orson, Asha, Aqua, Icy and Zappy) so it doesn’t look like they’ve updated the range recently – at least not in my area. They were also still selling some items of Ty Fashion among the Beanie Boos. One thing I found interesting though were that my local store have started selling series 2 Mini Boos as well as series 1!

I decided to pick up one series 1 and two series 2 boxes.

I’ll start with the series 1 box.

As I’ve said before, there are 12 common Mini Boos available in each series, plus one rare “mystery chaser”. Each box comes with a checklist of all the Mini Boos available in the series (with the exception of the chaser, which is shown as a yellow silhouette with a red “?” over the front.

The common Mini Boos available in Series 1 are Waddles, Slush, Duke, Icy, Kiki, Coconut, Sammy, Fantasia, Bamboo, Leona, Safari and Pinky. The chaser for this series is a rainbow coloured leopard called Dotty.

The Mini Boo I received with this packet was….Coconut!

Coconut is a cute little monkey with a dark brown, fuzzy texture all over his head and body. His glittery purple eyes are surrounded by a cream coloured face and he has a hand-painted nose and mouth.

Next up is the first of my series 2 boxes.

Like the series 1 box, it comes with a little checklist of the Mini Boos available for this series. In series 2, you can get either Blueberry, Boom Boom, Gilbert, Glitter, Ice Cube, Owlette, Precious, Skylar, Squirt, Tabitha, Tasha or Tundra, plus the mystery chaser, Glitz the golden unicorn.

Inside this box was….Precious!

Precious is an adorable bright pink dog with sparkly purple eyes. She has one purple ear and one bright orange ear. Under her left eye is a patch of bright orange and she also has an orange tail.

Finally, now for the last series 2 box.

Pretty much the same as the last box, with the exception of an orange question mark on the front instead of blue. The bag was even the same green colour.

And now to find out which Mini Boo is inside…

Uh-oh! Double trouble!

Well I got another Precious, so now I have two! Oh well, better luck next time! At least they can keep each other company.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Mini Boos Unboxing – Series 1

Monday, February 3rd, 2020

Another Poundland find this weekend!

Last week I reviewed Zappy as I found him and a few other Beanie Boos, including Orson and Nori in Poundland for only £2! As I previously mentioned, Poundland is a UK discount store that sells items for between £1-5.

This time, I came home with one of the Mini Boos!

Mini Boos are hand-painted figurine versions of Beanie Boos that come in a concealed box with a question mark on the front.

I had previously purchased one of the Mini Boos from Poundland and I received Kiki (pictured below), a cute grey tabby cat with a pink bow. When I came back to buy another one, they had all sold out! However, they now have a new batch in stock again! Yay!

On the back of the box are all the pictures of all the Mini Boos available in the series. This box happens to be from the first series. The only Mini Boo not pictured is what is known as the “Mystery Chaser”, a rare Mini Boo that is only available in smaller quantities.

Inside each box is a bagged Mini Boo figurine and a Mini Boos checklist. For some reason, I’ve ended up with two checklists. I’m pretty sure there is only meant to be one as that was what I got with Kiki originally.

Each checklist has the different Mini Boos available for each series with their picture, name and a circle that you can tick when you get each one. There is also a Mystery Chaser picture that you can tick if you’re lucky enough to get it.

Finally, it was time for me to open the box and the Mini Boo inside was…Safari! The Safari Mini Boo is based on the Beanie Boo, also called Safari, who was released in 2010.

Isn’t he adorable?

Safari will sit nicely on my desk alongside the Kiki Mini Boo I got previously. I’m sure more will join them both at some point.

Here they are pictured together.

There are currently four series of Mini Boos available, and I’m now hooked! And this is just the first series!

Do you have any Mini Boos in your collection?
