Scorch the Dragon

Description

Scorch is a four-legged tie-dye dragon Beanie Baby featuring curly napped fabric. A pair of large iridescent red wings sit on top of his back. Green felt spikes run along his spine and the same fabric is used for the claws on his feet. Scorch has black button eyes, red thread nostrils and a red felt tongue.

Because of the tie-dyed material used to make him, all Scorch Beanie Babies are unique. Consequently, no two are ever the same. The fabric used features a mixture of brown and purple tones

Scorch measures approximately 25cm (9.7 inches) long and 16.5cm (6.5 inches) tall.

Collectors note

Scorch was released 30th September 1998.

His Birthday is on 31st July 1998.

He was the first Beanie Baby to use the curly, napped material. A later Beanie Baby that used the same material was Beak the Kiwi Bird.

Scorch retired on 23rd December 1999.

He was also released as a larger Beanie Buddy in April 2000.

Counterfeit Advice

Counterfeit versions of Scorch have been reported. Please check the list below before purchasing Scorch. A counterfeit Scorch Beanie Baby may have:

Missing Nostrils.

Tongue is too long, un-flocked or too light in colour.

Eyes with two colours. A genuine Scorch the Dragon Beanie Baby has solid black eyes.

The napped material is a very similar, but the green used for the felt spikes is too light and they are too thin.

The paper hang tag is too thin with the holes punched in the wrong place. The font is also wrong. A genuine Scorch will use a Comic Sans font.

A counterfeit Scorch may have a wider tush tag. The font is also wrong and the star is too big and stretched.
