Series 7 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies Announcement!

Wednesday, January 24th, 2024

Hi everyone!

I have some exciting news for you all…the latest series of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies has been announced!

There are two familiar faces appearing as well as one new face! I will go through them all below.

Legs II

Legs II 30th Anniversary Ty Beanie Babies

Legs II is based on the original Legs Beanie Baby, which in turn was one of the original nine Beanie Babies!

The original Legs was a solid, bright green colour, whereas this updated version is more of a lime green with a pale pink belly.

Isn’t he adorable?!

Legs II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Hope II

Hope II 30th Anniversary Ty Beanie Babies

Hope was one of my favourite bears, so I am so happy to see Hope II!

I love how Ty have gone with a pale grey, neutral colour for Hope II, and I’m glad they have kept her brown nose.

I think that this is the Beanie Baby I am looking forward to the most in this set.

Hope II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

and finally…

Magenta II

Magenta II 30th Anniversary Ty Beanie Babies

From what I can see, Magenta II looks like she could be a brand new Beanie Baby! By that, I mean is that she isn’t based on a current Beanie Baby. The only thing I can think is that she could be something to do with New Face Teddy (Magenta), but I’m not sure about this.

I LOVE her bright pink ribbon covered in white polka dots!

Magenta II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

My thoughts…

I adore this new series of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies!

I think my favourite of this series may be Hope II, but I also love little Legs II and I love the colours on Magenta II. Oh, I can’t decide, they’re all so cute!

Have you spotted the Beanie Babies in series 7? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

Take a look at the Valentine’s Beanies for 2024!

Thursday, January 11th, 2024

Hi everyone!

Very soon, we will be getting the new Valentine’s Beanies for 2024!

I’m very excited about these new releases as we will be seeing a brand new animal design never made by Ty before!

There will be some brand new Beanie Boos, Beanie Bellies and Squishy Beanies and from what I’ve seen, they all look so cute!

I’ll start with the Squishy Beanies…

Flirt

Flirt the Cat Ty Squishy Beanie

Flirt is an adorable squishy cat with a bright heart over her left eye. I really love her design and the stripes on top of her head, as well as her cute little whiskers.

Flirt will be available in a medium 10″ and large 14″ size.

Medium Flirt is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Large Flirt is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Beau

Beau the Dog Ty Squishy Beanie

Beau is based on a previous Beanie Boo, also called Beau.

She is covered in cute little hearts and has a heart over her right eye.

Beau will be available in a medium 10″ and large 14″ size.

Medium Beau is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Large Beau is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Three new Beanie Boos will also be released this month…

Gigi

Gigi the Monkey Ty Beanie Boo

Gigi is an adorable little pink monkey with gorgeous pink eyes! She carries a bright red, shiny heart just for you!

I love her adorable little smiley face that is certain to cheer you up!

Gigi is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Rory

Rory the Dog Ty Beanie Boo

Just look at little Rory! How could anyone resist her cute little face?!

I adore the colour combination of pink and white and her bright pink spots. She also has the sweetest little white eyebrows over her glittery pink eyes.

Rory is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Bubbles

Bubbles the Octopus Ty Beanie Boo

Check out adorable Bubbles!

This little octopus has a pale pink body and tentacles and she is covered in bright pink hearts. Her purple eyes are just gorgeous!

Bubbles is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

And now for the Beanie Bellies!

Valerie

Valerie the Bear Ty Beanie Bellies

Little Valerie is so sweet that she is covered in bright red kisses!

Her nose is heart-shaped and she has red paw pads with “XO” on them, meaning “hugs and kisses”.

Valerie is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Sprinkles

Sprinkles the Cow/Bull Ty Beanie Bellies

I LOVE Sprinkles!

I think he might be a bull, just because the previous Beanie Bellies cow, Herdly, had udders!

He has the cutest little tuft of pink fur on top of his head and carries a bright red heart.

Sprinkles is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

And finally…

Locky

Locky the Axolotl Ty Beanie Bellies

Locky is quite possibly my favourite Beanie Bellies design so far this year!

I’m so glad that Ty have finally released an axolotl, as I think a lot of people have been asking for one, myself included!

I ADORE her pink-fringed, shiny frills and tiny hands and feet!

Locky is available from The Magical Gift Boutique!

My thoughts…

I think my favourite Beanie of the 2024 Valentine’s Day releases has to be, hands down, Locky! I love that there is a brand new animal design and she looks downright adorable!

A close second would have to be Sprinkles. He would make the perfect partner for Herdly!

To be honest, I love all of the Valentine’s Beanies this year!

Take a look at Series 6 of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies!

Monday, December 11th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Some exciting news in time for Christmas!…the 6th series of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies has been announced!

I have pre-ordered this set from The Magical Gift Boutique ready for their release as I expect this set to be quite popular!

Celebrate II

Celebrate II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Celebrate II was first released in the USA as part of series 5. However, he has now been released in series 6 for the UK!

I love the purple colour of Celebrate II and his little purple-pink ribbon. It feels like one of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies I MUST have in my collection because of his embroidered “30 Years” Ty heart.

Celebrate II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Amber II

Amber II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Following on from last series’ Silver II, we will now be getting his counterpart Amber II!

I remember saying in a previous post how I would love Silver II to have his companion kitty, and I’m happy to say that these two will be reunited again!

The difference this time is that Amber II has been created in the design of the older style kitties, which I absolutely LOVE! It almost feels like Ty has been listening when I said I prefer the old-style cats of the 90s!

Amber II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

Bananas II

Bananas II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

The final addition to the Anniversary Beanie Babies will be…Bananas II!

Bananas II is named after the original Bananas, but has a design more akin to Schweetheart.

I love his colour combination of smoky grey and lilac. There is something quite calming about it, yet still retaining some of the crazy colour mixes that I love.

Bananas II is available to order from The Magical Gift Boutique!

My thoughts…

I am so happy that Celebrate II is finally coming to the UK! I’ve been waiting for this Beanie to arrive since the last series, when it was announced that he would be part of the 5th series in the USA!

I’m so happy that Silver and Amber will be together again! I’m also glad that Ty went with the old-style, laying down design for her instead of a sitting position.

Bananas is a great addition to the 30th Anniversary range and I’m happy that we have another crazy colour combination again! I also love that he looks more like Schweetheart, rather than the original Bananas as I preferred that design overall.

I’m so glad that I’ve preordered this set from The Magical Gift Boutique as I think they will be very popular.

I’m slightly sad that with it being December, there are no Christmas-themed re-releases joining the gang, but I guess there weren’t any Halloween or Thanksgiving Anniversary Beanies either. But I absolutely love the new additions that we are getting!

What are your thoughts on series 6? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

New Ty Beanies arriving in November 2023!

Monday, November 13th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Have you “herd” the exciting news? There are more a-moo-sing Beanies out this month!

Sorry, I couldn’t help it!

Seriously though, there are some fantastic new releases out this month! I have three of them to show you already below that I bought from one of my favourite online shops, The Magical Gift Boutique!

NOVEMBER BEANIE BOOS AND BEANIE BELLIES IN MY COLLECTION SO FAR…

Hambone

Hambone the Pig Ty Beanie Boo

The first of these is Hambone.

How adorable is this little guy?! I just love the little grey patches they have given him, and his little piggy snout is just perfect!

His Birthday is on 27th February and his poem reads:

I like the spring
And when birds sing
I’ll sit a while
It makes me smile

Hambone is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Next up is…

Jenni

Jenni the Cat Ty Beanie Bellies

I’ve been so looking forward to having Jenni in my collection!

Not only are her pastel colours purrfect, she kind of reminds me of the original Peace bears and Sammy from the 90s. Obviously, she has the newer glittery button eyes, but the colours on each one are so different, that each one is unique!

Her Birthday is on 14th September and her poem reads:

Four soft little paws
Without the sharp claws
All pastel and pretty
A wonderful Kitty!

Jenni is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Herdly

Herdly the Cow Ty Beanie Bellies

Now, this is a Beanie Belly that I have been eagerly awaiting! Herdly the cow!

It’s been too long since we had a new cow Beanie, and Herdly is a fantastic new addition to the Beanie Bellies range!

I love her tiny horns and I think it’s brilliant that Ty have given great attention to detail by adding udders to her belly!

She is probably one of my favourites this year!

Herdly’s Birthday is on 16th July and her poem reads:

In the pasture where I graze
It’s the best on sunny days
On the days if there is rain
I stay in and eat my grain

Herdly is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

MORE BEANIE BOOS AND BEANIE BELLIES FOR NOVEMBER 2023!

The following Beanies, I don’t have in my collection just yet, but are either available already, or will be released later this month…

Fisher

Fisher the Penguin Ty Beanie Boo

Fisher is a delightful little penguin with pale grey feathers. She is so adorable and I’m glad that Ty have created a slightly different design for her rather than a traditional black and white penguin.

Fisher is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Rukus

Rukus the Skunk Ty Beanie Bellies

Rukus is probably one of my favourite Beanie Bellies this November! She reminds me a little of Flower the Skunk from the Disney movie, Bambi.

I love how there are little extra details, such as her paw prints have been adapted to look a little bit like skunk tracks and she has extra fluffy fur on her head and tail.

Rukus is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Randi

Randi the Rottweiler Dog Ty Beanie Bellies

Randi is a gorgeous Rottweiler dog with lovely, tan-coloured details on her eyebrows, face and legs.

I love her cute little black paw pads and how her glittery golden eyes stand out from her black fur.

Randi is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

NEW MEDIUM SIZE FOR BEANIE BELLIES NOW AVAILABLE!

You heard that right! Ty have released a new 23cm (9″) size to the Beanie Bellies range!

So far, I have Mango and Stubby on pre-order that I will show you when they arrive.

Medium Mango the Cat and Medium Stubby the Monkey Ty Beanie Bellies

Both Mango and Stubby, and more medium size Beanie Bellies are available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Some of the medium Beanie Bellies that have been announced so far are:

Mango (Medium)
Stubby (Medium)
Tink (Medium)
Lloyd (Medium)
Penelope (Medium)
Duncan (Medium)
Syklar (Medium)
Bumper (Medium)
Snapper (Medium)

I’m really interested to see how the material differs on a larger size, especially with a “fluffier” Beanie Belly like Stubby. I can’t wait to show you all how they look in reality!

MORE BEANIE BALLS AVAILABLE THIS NOVEMBER!

There are four new Beanie Balls designs also available this November!

Pigasso

Pigasso the Pig Ty Beanie Balls

I just love the pastel tie-dye colours on Pigasso! And how adorable are those glittery blue eyes and that little pink piggy snout?!

Pigasso is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Gilly

Gilly the Frog Ty Beanie Balls

Gilly is a sweet, green frog who would make the perfect friend for Snapper!

I love his bright green colour and his matching, glittery button eyes!

Gilly is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

Clawsby

Clawsby the Tiger Ty Beanie Balls

Another welcome addition to the Beanie Balls range is Clawsby!

He has a cute little round, striped body and I love the white detail around his face!

Clawsby is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

And finally…

Cruiser

Cruiser the Turtle Ty Beanie Balls

Cruiser is a bright green turtle with the sweetest face!

He carries his brown shell on his back and has the most gorgeous, glittery gold eyes!

Cruiser is available at The Magical Gift Boutique!

MY THOUGHTS…

I am absolutely loving the new November Beanies!

The new Beanie Bellies are absolutely fantastic and I’m over the moon with the new designs!

I think my favourite of the new regular-sized Beanie Bellies is probably Herdly, closely followed by Rukus. Although to be honest, it was hard to pick a favourite this time as they are all so cute!

I am looking forward to seeing the new medium-sized Beanie Bellies in real life! And I can’t wait for Mango and Stubby to arrive (and I may sneakily order a Penelope at some point!…)

The Beanie Balls are great too! I think my two favourites would have to be Pigasso and Gilly.

What are your thoughts on the new November Beanies? Who is your favourite? Are you looking forward to the medium Beanie Bellies? Leave a comment below!

Series 5 of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies available soon!

Wednesday, October 18th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Who else is excited for the upcoming release of the fifth series of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies?

I’m especially happy that the UK will be getting three Beanies instead of only two like in the last series! In the last series, we only got Signature Bear II and Nanook II, whereas the USA had Blue Teddy II, Nanook II and Zip II.

This time, both the USA and UK will get three Beanies! Hooray!

So, which Beanie Babies will be available in this series?

Silver II

Silver II the Cat 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Silver II is one of the latest 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies!

She is based on the original Silver Beanie Baby. I haven’t seen it yet, but since all the other poems so far have matched the originals I’m guessing her poem will be as follows:

Curled up, sleeping in the sun
He’s worn out from having fun
Chasing dust specks in the sunrays
This is how he spends his days!

The original Silver (and his counterpart Amber) were based on two orphaned kittens who were adpoted by Ty Warner.

I wonder if one day there may be an Amber II….I hope so.

Dotty II

Dotty the Dalmatian Dog 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Dotty II is based on the original Dotty.

Both Beanies look incredibly similar, The only main difference will be that the newer Anniversary version will have softer, plush fur.

Again, I’m assuming that her poem will be as follows:

The Beanies all thought it was a big joke
While writing her tag, their ink pen broke
She got in the way, and got all spotty
So now the Beanies call her Dotty!

Dotty is so cute, and I love her poem on how she “got her spots”.

Blue Teddy II

Blue Teddy II the Bear 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Blue Teddy II is only part of the UK series 5. He was already released in the USA as part of the fourth series.

This teddy is the most gorgeous bright blue colour. His rainbow ribbon suits him perfectly.

His Birthday is on 30th November (based on the USA release in the last series) and his poem is as follows:

Teddy wanted to go out today
All of his friends went out to play
But he’d rather help whatever you do
After all, his best friend is you!

Despite him being named “Blue Teddy II”, there was no original Blue Teddy and this is the first of his name.

And finally…

Celebrate II

Celebrate II the Bear 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Celebrate II will only be released in the USA this time round.

His Birthday is on 18th December and his poem is as follows:

Each year it seems we’ve just begun
Bringing your favorites one by one
That’s got to be the reason why
These 30 years quickly flew by

At the moment, it’s unknown whether he will arrive in the UK, but I will update you if he does.

My thoughts

I’m loving the new Silver II and Dotty II, but I wish there was a little more variety in colour.

I LOVE the bright colours from the earlier series. I loved the wacky colour combinations of Patti II, Peanut II and Squealer II. Even Nanook II was blue instead of grey.

I wish that Ty had made one of the Beanies in this series a bright colour, but that’s just my personal opinion and I do love the two Beanies that have been announced.

I also REALLY hope that they make an Amber II as a friend for Silver II…

What are your thoughts on series 5 of the Anniversary Beanie Babies? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

The 4th series of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies has now been announced!

Friday, August 18th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Great news! We now know who is in the fourth set of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies!

Yet again, they will be available to find at local retailers in the USA and UK….and here they are below!

Zip II

Zip II 30th Anniversary Beanie Baby

Zip II made his appearance in the third set in the UK. Now he will be available in the fourth series of Beanies.

He looks identical in nearly every way to the original Zip (white paws variation), except for the addition of a white tail tip.

His Birthday has moved from the 28th March to 28th June, but his poem remains unchanged.

Nanook II

Nanook II 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies

Nanook II is one of the new designs this month!

Based on the original Nanook, who was one of the cutest little husky Beanie Babies (in my opinion), he is set to be a favourite this month!

I’m not sure on a Birthday for him just yet, but I’m guessing based on previous Beanies that his poem will remain the same as the original, shown below.

Nanook is a dog that loves cold weather
To him a sled is light as a feather
Over the snow and through the slush
He runs at hearing the cry of “mush!”

I can’t wait to get this little guy and I currently have him on preorder for when he arrives!

Blue Teddy II

Blue Teddy II 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies (Photo: Ty.com)

(Photo: Ty.com)

Blue Teddy II is the new bear addition available this month for the USA.

So far, the picture above is all that I can find on him. As you can see, he is a beautiful bright blue colour with a pastel rainbow ribbon.

So far, I’m uncertain if he will have a poem or birth date yet, but I will update his page when I get more details on him.

I’m not quite sure why he’s called “Blue Teddy II” however, as there wasn’t a “Blue Teddy” to begin with! I’m guessing they’re just sticking with them all having “II” at the end of their name.

Signature Bear II

Signature Bear II 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies

Signature Bear II was available in the third set last month for the USA. However, he will now be available in the fourth set in the UK this time.

Inside his hang tag, he is named Signature Bear 2023.

He is a gorgeous lime green colour with a bright red ribbon, and of course, the signature Ty heart on his chest.

My thoughts…

The fourth series looks amazing!

I’m really looking forward to getting Nanook II as I loved the original Beanie Baby version of him!

However, I’m a little disappointed this month that the UK only have two Beanies in the fourth series (Nanook II and Signature Bear II) instead of the three that the USA will be getting (Nanook II, Blue Teddy II and Zip II).

What are your thoughts on this latest set of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

Have you heard? The new Halloween 2023 Beanie Boos have been revealed!

Thursday, August 10th, 2023

Hi everyone!

More exciting news from Ty! We are currently awaiting the announcement for the next series of 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies. However, this year’s Halloween Beanie Boos have been announced for 2023!

There will be four new Beanie Boos available and they are freakily adorable!

See below for the new Halloween Beanie Boos!

Mumford

Mumford the Mummy Halloween Beanie Boo 2023

I can’t quite decide if Mumford is a mummy or a ghost. He wears bandages like a mummy, but has the shape of a ghost!

He is so adorable though, and made more so by the cute little spider pet he carries round with him! I love that his poem is all about his little arachnid friend too.

He is one of my favourite Halloween Beanie Boos this year!

Nightcap

Nightcap the Ghost Halloween Beanie Boo 2023

This is the second ghostly friend available this year!

Nightcap wears a large pointed, striped hat and he has a cute little gold tooth. His entire body is covered in silver sparkles, adding to his ghostly appearance.

I love his his sparkly orange eyes stand out from the white of his body.

Charlotte

Charlotte the Spider Halloween Beanie Boo 2023

Not to be confused with another Beanie Boo cat called Charlotte.

This eight-legged Charlotte is quite possibly named after the spider character from the book, Charlotte’s Web.

She is very cute (if you’re not arachnophobic) and I love the white detail underneath her eyes and her tiny, sparkly fangs. Her orange and black striped legs look very striking against her black body too.

And finally…

Ophelia

Ophelia the Bat Halloween Beanie Boo 2023

It wouldn’t be a Halloween Beanie Boo launch without a bat Beanie Boo!

Last year, we actually had two bats, Drizella and Mortimer. This time, we only have one but she is one of my favourite bats so far!

Her name is Ophelia and she is so adorable!

I absolutely love how her black, fuzzy body is broken up by the sparkly bright blue of her inner ears, her glittery green eyes and her bright red feet. Her sparkly black wings with a red spiderweb pattern also make a nice touch.

My thoughts on the 2023 Halloween Beanie Boos…

My favourite of this spooky bunch is probably Ophelia, followed by Mumford. I love Ophelia’s colouration and I think Mumford’s pet spider is so cute!

I’m a little sad that there are no Halloween cat Beanie Boos this year, but there is a good selection and we did have two cats last year, Morticia and Oleander.

What are your thoughts on this year’s Halloween Beanie Boos? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

The Beanie Bubble Movie is Out! Did it meet up to expectations?

Sunday, August 6th, 2023

Hi everyone!

As you may be aware, the Beanie Bubble movie is now showing at selected cinemas and available to stream on Apple TV as well as Amazon Prime in the US!

I have now watched it and really enjoyed the movie but can safely say, that this movie is not intended for children.

The movie is based on the book, The Great Beanie Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute by Zac Bissonnette. This book is about the rise and fall of the Beanie Baby craze of the 90’s and can be purchased on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

Be aware, this review may contain some spoilers if you haven’t already watched the movie.

The Beanie Bubble (Photo: Apple TV)

(Photo: Apple TV)

What is the movie about?

The Beanie Bubble follows the lives of the three women that helped Ty gain the success he had during the Beanie craze of the 90’s.

Elizabeth Banks plays Robbie Jones, Ty’s business partner. They meet after the death of Ty’s Father and eventually set up Ty Inc. together.

Sarah Snook plays Sheila Harper, Ty’s long term girlfriend. Sheila and her two daughters move in to Ty’s house.

Geraldine Viswanathan plays Maya Kumar, “employee number 12” at Ty Inc. She came up with ideas for the company, such as the poems in hang tags and retiring Beanie Babies to make them more sought after. She also designed (along with her brother) the the first ever website that sold directly to consumers.

The Beanie Bubble is about the rise and fall of the Beanie Babies craze that sent everybody mad.  It is based around how these three women, who played such a huge part in Ty Warner’s life, never got a mention.

Are the events in the movie real?

As with all things in the film industry, not EVERYTHING is exactly how things played out. At the beginning of the movie, it even states “There are parts of the truth you can’t make up. The rest we did”. But from what I’ve learned there are some key events that did really happen.

The truck that overturned at the beginning of the movie sending thousands of Beanie Babies hurtling through the air actually happened. However, in reality it contained McDonald’s Teenie Beanie Babies not Beanie Babies.

Beanie Bubble Movie Truck Crash

(Photo: Apple TV)

McDonald’s really did run out of Teenie Beanie Babies, and one guy actually ordered 100 Happy Meals and told the cashier to “hold the food, just include the Beanies”.

People really were that crazy in the 90’s. I miss those days…

What about the women in the movie? Did they really exist?

Although their names have been changed for the Beanie Bubble movie, they are actually based on real people in Ty’s life.

Robbie Jones

Robbie is based on Ty’s real life former girlfriend, Patricia Roche. She did in fact help set up Ty Inc along with Ty Warner. However, the movie suggested she would never work for him again, but set up her own separate company that would become the exclusive wholesaler of Ty products in the UK. In reality, the didn’t set up a company and accepted Ty’s offer to directly run Ty UK. It was correct that was one of the highest paid executives in the UK though.

Sheila Harper

Sheila is really inspired by Faith McGowan, Ty’s long-term girlfriend. She has two daughters from a pervious relationship, and they all moved into Ty Warner’s house together. This really happened.

It is partially true about the Spooky hang tag name credit change. It is suggested in the movie that Sheila’s daughter came up with the Spooky design. She drew the design on a tablecloth and gave it to Ty and he credited her on the hang tag, saying it was designed by Ava Harper.

Spooky Beanie Baby Ava Harper

(Photo: Apple TV)

Apparently, Ty was having trouble with how the Beanie would fit with the Beanie Babies range. Faith’s daughter, Jenna Boldebuck, drew the design on a paper tablecloth (like in the movie). But instead of handing the drawing to him, Ty tore the sketch off and took it with him.

The original Beanie did indeed have Jenna’s name credited on it, but two months later disappeared.

Maya Kumar

Maya’s real-life inspiration is a woman named Lina Trivedi. In the movie, she came up with the idea of adding a poem and birthday to the hang tags and designed the Beanie Baby website. She even came up with the idea of retiring Beanie Babies.

In reality, she (along with her brother) did in fact design Ty.com and it really did become the first business to consumer website in the world.

However, she did not come up with the idea of retiring Beanie Babies. That credit goes to the King brothers, who were distributors for Ty Inc.

My thoughts on the movie…

Although, there is quite a lot that is definitely more fiction that fact, I did really enjoy the movie. It brought a sense of nostalgia for the 90’s that I really liked.

There are parts I found a bit cheesy, but overall I thought it was a great insight into the Beanie Baby craze.

I also loved the Beanie Babies that were made specifically for the movie and the crazy, colourful cats that I wish existed.

Beanie Bubble Movie Pink Cat

(Photo: Apple TV)

When I first saw the trailer I wasn’t sure if there would be much about actual Beanie Babies, but some names did have a mention which I was pleased about.

Would I watch it again? Of course I would!

If you would like to read The Great Beanie Bubble book, you can find it on Amazon.com and Amazon UK

The Beanie Bubble is available at selected cinemas, on Apple TV and through Amazon Prime in the US.

My Third Series of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies Arrived and They Are My Favourite So Far!

Friday, July 28th, 2023

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to tell you all that my third series of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies arrived to my parents’ house from The Magical Gift Boutique and they are quite possibly my favourite series yet!

The third series actually ended up a little different from my previous post (thwarted by Ty yet again! Haha!). I had heard that the Signature Bear II (now named Signature Bear 2023) was going to be in this set, but it looks like this will only be in the US release of the third series.

Instead, the UK version of series 3 includes the three Beanie Babies pictured below.

Series 3 of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies. Left to right: Patti II, Peace II and Zip II

From left to right we have Patti II, Peace II and Zip II. I think they are possibly my favourite set so far in all the series of 30th Anniversary Beanies!

Patti II

Patti II Beanie Baby

Patti II is probably my favourite from the new bunch. Her bright orange colouring is really striking against her blue bill and feet. She really feels like an upgrade from the Patti I remember and love from the 90s.

Like all of the new Beanie Babies, her poem remains the same, but her Birthday has changed from 6th January to 6th July.

Patti II Beanie Baby hang tag

Peace II

Peace II Beanie Baby

I love Peace II‘s bright yellow colouring. I’m kind of sad that she is not tie-dyed, because part of the fun of the original Peace bear was finding all different variations in colour. But I’m glad in some ways that they have made her different. However, they have given her a splash of colour with her rainbow-coloured mesh ribbon which is a nice touch. She still retains her multi-coloured “Peace” symbol too.

Her poem remains unchanged but her birth date is now on 1st September instead of 1st February.

Zip II

Zip II Beanie Baby

Zip II is probably the most unchanged Beanie Baby out of all the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies released so far.

Everything about him is the same as the original Zip, even down to the green and black eyes and white paws. The only difference being made from a softer fabric. I actually loved the original Zip and he was one of my favourite old-style cats (along with Prance and Chip). Part of me kind of wishes Ty had made a few changes, but then I’m not sure if I would have liked him as much.

His birth date has changed from 28th March to 28th June, but he has the same poem as the original.

My thoughts…

As I stated above, this is my favourite series so far of the 30th Anniversary Beanie Babies. I ADORE Patti II’s orange and blue colouring and Peace II’s bright sunny yellow body.

I’m torn between wishing Zip II had some differences from the original and actually really loving the nostalgic vibe from him being a softer upgrade. I think I probably wouldn’t have been as happy if he was a different colour because I would be thinking “That’s not Zip!”.

I’m really glad they included an old-style cat this time though. As some of you may already know, I’m a bit of a cat lover so I had a big smile when I saw Zip II was going to be included in the UK series 3 set.
