Karma Chameleon!

Tuesday, October 26th, 2021

Hi everyone!

Halloween is just around the corner and I found a Pumkin’ Beanie Baby on eBay who will become one of my decorations this year!

Yesterday, I also managed to get hold of a Flippable I’ve been wanting to buy for some time!

Meet Karma.

Karma is arguably one of the most colourful Flippables around! Her body is covered in reversible sequins that are all the colours of the rainbow. Check out how pretty they are!

When you flip her sequins the other way, they change to sparkly silver, as shown below. She also has a ridge of sparkly, rainbow coloured spikes running along her back.

Her Birthday is on 19th January and her poem reads as follows:

A true chameleon, my colors do change
Flip my sequins and watch as I rearrange!

Karma’s legs and tail don’t have sequins on them. Instead, they are made from a brightly coloured, rainbow material covered in a shiny scale pattern. What I love the most is Karma’s curled tail.

Karma was released in both a small and medium size.

All about…Claude the Crab

the truth about claude the crab beanie baby

– CLAUDE’S BEANIEPEDIA PAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE –

If you are reading this article, there’s a good chance that you’ve heard all the rumours on the internet that Claude is a “rare Beanie”, made even rarer if it has so-called “tag errors”.

Sadly, those rumours aren’t true. Claude is one of the most common Beanie Babies available and those tag errors we keep hearing about are either not errors at all or were so mass produced that the “errors” are as common as a correctly spelled tag.

So what’s the TRUTH about Claude?

Before we go into that, here’s a little more information on the infamous crustacean.

A little about Claude…

Claude’s style number is 4083.

His body, legs and pincers are tie-dyed a beautiful blue and brown colour, with the exception of his white underside. He has little black eyes and black thread antennae that are knotted at the end.

Tag Generation

Claude came with either a 4th or 5th generation hang tag (see our swing tag guide for more information) and a 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th generation tush tag (see our tush tag guide).

The picture below is an example of Claude with a 5th generation hang tag and 6th generation tush tag.

Birthday

Claude’s Birthday is on 3rd September 1996.

Poem

Claude’s poem is as follows:

Claude the crab paints by the sea
A famous artist he hopes to be
But the tide came in and his paints fell
Now his art is on his shell!

Variations

Claude also has an adorable McDonald’s Teenie Beanie Baby counterpart who was released back in May 1999!

Claude doesn’t have a matching Beanie Buddy. However, the tie-dyed version of the Digger Beanie Buddy bears a similar resemblance!

So what is Claude REALLY worth?

After hearing the truth that he isn’t really worth thousands of dollars, I’m sure you’re wanting to know what Claude is REALLY worth?

I have written a handy guide on how to figure out the answer to that question (and the value of other Beanie Babies), which you can find in the link below.

What Are My Beanie Babies Really Worth?

As stated in the guide, the easiest way to find out how much he is worth, is to see what Claude actually SOLD for on eBay. After all, a Beanie Baby is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

By using this guide, we can see that Claude sold for $5.50 in August 2021 and $3.25 in September 2021 which would create an average of around $1-5.

How much is Claude beanie baby worth?

There is another version of Claude who had a 4th generation hang tag with his name all in capital letters, like the example shown below.

This version is worth slightly more as it is slightly less common, fetching up to around $10.

What about the high sold values on eBay?

If you look down the sold listings, you may find sold prices that are also on the high side. There are various reasons for this.

Fake sales: A seller can “buy” their own Beanie using a different account, or get a friend to buy it for them. This creates a false high value, making it seem like there is a lot of interest in the particular Beanie. A buyer never has to pay for the item for it to show up in the sold listings. These sales will normally have only one bidder with zero/very little feedback.

Money Laundering: When criminals are trying to move money around, what better way than to hide it through a legitimate-looking sale on eBay.

Vigilante “buyers”: The bidder is on a mission to take down sellers who are trying to sell their Beanie for way too much money. They bid on the item, taking it off the market and never pay for the item. It teaches the seller a valuable lesson…not to overcharge for Beanies. Unfortunately, this also ends up in the sold listings, making things more confusing.

I hope this article was helpful to you in figuring out the true value of Claude, as well as giving you a little more information on him.

Genevieve the Cat – Attic Treasures Review

Monday, October 11th, 2021

Hi everyone!

In my last post, I mentioned that I had purchased a new Beanie that I’d seen based on one of the requests that I’d added and that I’d do a full review once I’d received her. Well….she arrived!

Meet Genevieve!

Genevieve is a beautiful white cat from the Attic Treasures collection! I couldn’t resist getting her!

I’ve given her fur a comb (well, who doesn’t have a bad hair day after being sent in the mail?), but now she’s back to her former glory. Her fur is really fluffy, so much so that I had to try and comb it out of the way of her gorgeous blue eyes! She has the cutest, embroidered pale pink nose and long, white thread whiskers. For the final touch, she has a little pink rose just above her right ear.

She has a 7th generation Attic Treasures hang tag (not to be confused with a 3rd generation Beanie Babies hang tag as they look very similar on the outside – see the Beanie Baby tag identification guide) and has the following phrase inside:

“Feline Great!”

It’s short and simple but suits her well, as she does indeed look like she’s feeling great.

When I saw Genevieve, I knew I HAD to have her in my collection! As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m a huge cat lover and love to collect the Ty cats. I also love her name, Genevieve. I think it sounds really pretty and goes well with her delicate features. Also…how cute are those toe beans?!

I’ve always loved the Attic Treasures collection. It’s one of my favourite product lines along with Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos. I love how they have a vintage look to them, and like their name suggests, have come straight out of the attic.

Do you have Genevieve in your collection or any other Attic Treasures? What do you think of Genevieve? Leave a comment below!

Halloween is nearly here!

Friday, October 8th, 2021

Hi everyone!

It’s been so busy here lately! I’ve been trying to get in as many Beanie requests as possible as I’ve had so many! I’ve still got some more to get through, but I’ve got through quite a big portion of them. The only issue with adding Beanie requests is that I find myself seeing Beanies I absolutely ADORE and must have!

I have actually ordered a new Beanie because of one of the requests I have had through. I will reveal which Beanie when I receive her and do a full review, but she looks so cute that I can’t wait to get her!

I have got some new Halloween Beanies though. Here they are pictured below:

I managed to pick up the two new Halloween Ty Puffies, Echo and Seeds! Echo is so adorable with his little round, fluffy body and tiny fangs and Seeds is cute too!

I also got Seeds in Flippables form! I love how he looks so happy! His glittery green eyes also look great against his bright orange sequins.

Jinx also arrived! I love her gold and dark brown sequins and her odd eyes in orange and green. She also carries a sparkly pumpkin treat in her mouth.

Last but not least, I managed to get hold of Eerie! Eerie is part of the Squish a Boos range and his tiny, sparkly purple wings are too cute for words!

I’ve also got my eye on two Halloween Beanies that I really want in my collection.

The first of these is Hocus.

I love how this little guy has his very own pet spider who he carries around on top of his head.

The second Halloween Beanie I want to get hold of is Scaredy.

Scaredy was a Halloween Beanie Baby I added recently as a request. She is actually part of the Beanie Babies 2.0 range and featured a special code to access a section of Ty’s website that used to be available where you could play games and chat. I love how she has an arched back as if she’s scared of something (hence the name, “Scaredy”).
