Karma Chameleon!

Tuesday, October 26th, 2021

Hi everyone!

Halloween is just around the corner and I found a Pumkin’ Beanie Baby on eBay who will become one of my decorations this year!

Yesterday, I also managed to get hold of a Flippable I’ve been wanting to buy for some time!

Meet Karma.

Karma is arguably one of the most colourful Flippables around! Her body is covered in reversible sequins that are all the colours of the rainbow. Check out how pretty they are!

When you flip her sequins the other way, they change to sparkly silver, as shown below. She also has a ridge of sparkly, rainbow coloured spikes running along her back.

Her Birthday is on 19th January and her poem reads as follows:

A true chameleon, my colors do change
Flip my sequins and watch as I rearrange!

Karma’s legs and tail don’t have sequins on them. Instead, they are made from a brightly coloured, rainbow material covered in a shiny scale pattern. What I love the most is Karma’s curled tail.

Karma was released in both a small and medium size.

Do you have Karma in your collection? Who is your favourite Ty Flippable? Leave a comment below!

Massive Beanie haul!

Friday, May 7th, 2021

Hi guys!

I hope you’ve had a great week! I just wanted to share with you all my latest Beanie haul!

It started off with three Beanies from The Magical Gift Boutique, who are a fantastic shop for buying Beanies based in the UK. I saw that they had the suit-wearing Mr. Bean teddy Beanie Baby back in stock and, being a long-time lover of the TV series, Mr. Bean, I had to have him! I was lucky too as later that day, they had sold out again! I also ordered Gertie and Faye (the unicorn fox) along with him.

I have to say that Gertie is actually better in real life than I first thought. She was one of those mad Beanie Boos that I wasn’t too sure about, but now I actually love her craziness!

Last weekend, I also had some luck in Clinton’s as they had a 20% discount on Ty products. I took advantage of that and bought Kate, Fredrick, Lola and Marshall (Paw Patrol). Marshall I bought for my Paw Patrol-loving daughter’s collection.

I had better success in the charity shops this time too, managing to grab a Waddles Mini Boo, two Jingle Beanies (Holiday Teddy 2003 and Toboggan) and the beautiful Rafaella.

Rafaella is part of the Attic Treasures collection and she reminds me of the Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She could easily be one of the fairies from the play. I think she is one of my favourite finds this week.

I also bought Darla, who arrived in the mail earlier this week.

As you may know from a previous post, I have been trying to collect the dragon Beanie Boos. Now I can add Darla and Kate to that set. Yes, I know Kate is TECHNICALLY a Flippable, but I’ve included her anyway since Flippables are pretty much glammed-up Beanie Boos. This is my dragon collection so far:

Now I just need Cinder, Spectra and Merlin to complete the small dragon Beanie Boos.

I also bought an adorable little bear called Cody. He came from a wonderful charity called the Folly Wildlife Rescue who do fantastic work rescuing injured and orphaned animals and birds all year round.

Cody, like most Attic Treasures has jointed limbs that can be posed. So he can wave to you, like this!

He’s just so lovely and fuzzy that I couldn’t resist him. I love the original Attic Treasures as they have so much personality.

Finally…my latest Beanie Boo which I have been wanting for a while now….

Loy!

I can’t believe I finally have this little guy!

Loy is a Japanese exclusive Beanie Boo, and features an additional Japanese hang tag with the most adorable picture on it!

His red Ty hang tag is written in English with the birth date of 10th November and his poem reads as follows:

No truer companion will you ever find
I’m loyal and loving to all of mankind.

I’m so happy I finally have Loy in my collection as he was the only one available in the UK at the time!

We went on a Beanie Hunt…

Tuesday, December 1st, 2020

Hi everyone!

On Sunday, we decided to hunt for some Beanies at out local Poundland!

I didn’t expect there to be much out there, especially since the Beanie shelf was pretty bare last time, but we actually ended up pleasantly surprised!

It’s Monday!

Monday, November 9th, 2020

Hi everyone!

As the title says, it’s Monday again at Beaniepedia HQ and it’s a bit of a damp day again (what’s new?!).

Last week was my daughter’s 1st Birthday and she loved her new Beanie Boo, Chase! She loves Paw Patrol and it’s her favourite character, so I just HAD to get him for her!

The only problem is he is so cute that now I want the set too!

I have also finally got hold of all the Christmas Beanie Boos and Puffies, which I’m very excited about!

Here they are pictured below:

From left to right, on the back row we have Cheer the penguin, Chimney the mouse, Snowfall the unicorn and Howlidays the dog. Just sat in front of them are Brie the mouse and Fudge the reindeer.

I love them all but I think if I had to pick, my two favourites would have to be the two mice, Chimney and Brie.

Last weekend, I also came across some bargains that might be of use to those in the UK, although it may be worth waiting until after lockdown now as they only have a limited selection online and there were more choices in-store. I found two medium-sized Flippables in TK Maxx for quite a reasonable price! Tegan the reindeer was £9.99 (I think she cost more because of Christmas coming up) and Charmed was reduced to £8.00. There were also other Flippables available and medium Beanie Boos too.

I also found both Asha and Orson Beanie Boos and Arctic and Freckles from the Beanie Babies range in Poundland for £2 each!

The only shame was that in my local Poundland they have stopped selling Mini Boos! The was a bit of a disappointment as they were only £1 each and I was looking forward to collecting them! Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

Today, I’ve been spending some time on Beanie requests that aren’t yet on the website. I apologise that I haven’t had chance to reply to your emails yet, but I will try to shortly later today. But in any case, the emails I have got through, just to let you know the Beanies you couldn’t find have now been added to the database. Hopefully I’ll get a bit more time later on today to add a few more in as well.

Have a great Monday folks and Happy Collecting!

Tremor in Space!

Sunday, May 31st, 2020

Tremor the dinosaur Flippable

On Saturday, two astronauts (Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley) were launched in to space aboard the SpaceX ship, Crew Dragon.

But the real star of the show was the sight of a small, sparkly dinosaur accompanying them! Tremor!

Tremor is one of the original three Flippables, the other two being Stompy and Crunch, and came in either a small or medium size.

Unexpectedly, the little dinosaur has now had a boost in fame, and is currently going for about £20-30 in the UK including postage and about $30-40 in the USA! Which I’m kicking myself for now, as I was thinking of bidding on on eBay for one last week that was going for much less and forgot to place a bid! (sigh!)

The reason for Tremor’s expedition into space was that the astronaut’s sons both had a passion for dinosaurs and collected all their dinosaur toys together so one could be picked for the launch. Tremor was the dinosaur selected and here he is!

However, Tremor’s trip to space wasn’t without reason. Plush toys are often taken into space and when they start to float, it shows the astronauts when they have reached zero-g and are experiencing weightlessness.

Happy Birthday Lilac!

Friday, May 29th, 2020

Well it’s that time of the week again…it’s Friday! It’s also the Birthday of a cute, little kitty called Lilac!

Lilac is part of the Teeny Tys range. I only just added her to the website yesterday before realising it was actually her Birthday today!

She features flippable sequins that change from a mixture of pink shades to a silvery, sparkly colour when you run your hand over them. Her sparkly green eyes really pop out from the pinky shades of her sequins.

I think we can all agree this little feline is just adorable!

New features on Beaniepedia!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2020

Hi everyone! Just a quick announcement to let you know about the brand new features on Beaniepedia!

A few people have expressed (including myself) that they would love to be able to sort Beanies in the database alphabetically when searching. Well…now you can!

On each category of Beanie, there is a drop-down box on the top right of the page that is defaulted to “Latest added”. If you click on this, you can sort alphabetically by ascending order (ASC) or descending order (DESC). You can also sort your collection alphabetically in the “My Beanies” section of the website.

On the “My Beanies” section, you can now filter through your own Beanies in your collection by year, colour and animal type!

You can also now share your collection with your friends if you choose to.

Also, I’m happy to announce that after quite a few requests, I have been adding more Teeny Tys to the website. I have been meaning to add them in for a while now! I have more to go just yet, but the rest will be going up on the website shortly.

Thanks for visiting our website and I hope you continue to enjoy using it! Stay safe everyone!

Unicorns, Unicorns and More Unicorns!

Friday, January 31st, 2020

Unicorn lovers, rejoice! Coming to stores either next month or in March are two new Flippables and one new Beanie Boo!

This month, we’ve already been spoilt with Darling, the brand new Valentine’s Day unicorn Beanie Boo. So who else is joining her?

First, we have Fantasia.

Now don’t confuse her with the 2015 unicorn Beanie Boo, also called Fantasia, although I think the two could be related. This Flippables Fantasia is covered in reversible sequins that change from pink to gold.

The next Flippables on the list is Cosmo.

Cosmo has reversible sequins are arranged in a rainbow-coloured check pattern. In fact, everything about her is colourful, from her rainbow glittery eyes, to her multicoloured hooves.

Finally, there is Gumball.

Gumball is a pink unicorn Beanie Boo with patches of hot pink, turquoise and grey. Her colouring really does look like it could be on a gumball.

So there you have it! All three unicorns to look out for over the next couple of months. I know my niece will love these when she hears about them (she ADORES unicorns!).

Which one do you like best?

One for the Cat Lovers…

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

For all the cat lovers following us, keep your eyes peeled for these two new cat Beanie Boos and one Flippables! They are due to be released in the coming weeks, with some sources speculating February or March.

First up is Asher. Asher looks to be a breed of long-haired cat with a grey head and white body. She is part of the “unicorn animal” range that Ty have been producing for some time now. She features a sparkly pink unicorn horn on top of her head.

Next we have Reagan. Reagan is a pink cat with curly fur. She appears to be a Valentine’s Day Beanie Boo, and the fact she could be released at any moment it would make perfect sense. Reagan’s fur looks to be the same colour and texture as the flamingo Beanie Boo, Dainty.

And finally, the last cat due to appear on the shelves is the new Flippables, Confetti! Confetti, as her name suggests, is covered in multicoloured reversible sequins that resemble confetti. Her colours are gorgeous!

As mentioned above, look for these new Beanie Boos to start appearing either next month or in March. Watch out for further updates on these and other Ty products that are coming soon!

Which of these cats are you most looking forward to seeing?

Bonnie and Tulip Flippables!

Tuesday, April 16th, 2019

Easter is nearly upon us, and so are two new Spring-themed Flippables!

The first of these is Bonnie, a cute little rabbit with white and pink sequins. Her white, fuzzy belly is the only part of her, except her white muzzle, pink inner ears, hands and feet that is not covered in sequins.

Bonnie’s poem reads:

When you see how sparkly I am
You’ll want to jump and hop
If you rub my head, back and forth
You’ll never want to stop!

Her Birthday is on 4th May.

Here is Bonnie is pictured below. Isn’t she adorable?!

Another new Easter-themed Flippable is Tulip.

Tulip is a little lamb with silver and pink/white flippable sequins that is just too adorable to resist! Her sequins replace her wool, and almost cover her entire body apart from her peach-coloured face and her sparkly pink hooves.

Her poem reads:

I’m a lamb but have no wool
My coat is sequin Flippable!

Tulip’s Birthday is on 27th April.

Take a look at Tulip, pictured below:

What do you think of these two Springtime Flippables? Do you own have them in your collection yet?
