Scrappy will be a scruffy grey and beige cat with glittery pink eyes. So far I have no information on her poem or Birthday, but hopefully I can update that soon.

Beanie Baby Birthday – Wallace the Bear!

Friday, January 25th, 2019

Today is Wallace’s Birthday!

Wallace was a Beanie Baby bear that was released on 31st August 1999. Here he is pictured below:

He is a teal coloured bear with the same soft, suede effect material as Fuzz the bear, another Beanie Baby bear released in 1999. Wallace wears a cute, red tartan scarf around his neck.

Wallace has a 5th generation swing tag. His poem has Scottish references and reads:

Castles rise from misty glens
Shielding bands of warrior men
Wearing tartan of their clan
Red, green and a little tan!

He was retired only four months after his release date on 23rd December 1999.

Wallace also has the same Birthday as Robert Burns, which is where Burns Night comes from, which is also today! So for those celebrating, Happy Burns Night!

Have you got Wallace in your collection?

Today is Library Shelfie Day!

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019

Today is the fourth Wednesday in January, which means it’s Library Shelfie Day!

It is a day created by the New York Public Library for book lovers to share their love of books for all the world to see! Here’s Scorch showing off my book collection. As you can see I’m a bit of a Terry Pratchett fan.

While there are various ways to show off your book shelf, from organising them alphabetically to arranging them into some kind of art form, I prefer to just keep it simple.

Speaking of books, there is a Beanie Baby that comes to mind today. Strangely enough, his name is….Books!

Books the bear was released in three different colours: Red, Purple and Blue!

Here they are…

They were released as Back to School bears back in 2005. They all had the same style number (40266) and has the same Birthday of 15th August 2004.

Do you have any of these three versions of Books in your collection?

Also to join in with Library Shelfie Day, you can join in by taking a picture of your bookshelf and sharing on Social Media with the hashtag #LibraryShelfieDay.

New Flippables for 2019!

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

I have come across these brand new Ty Flippables for 2019!

The first of these appears to be a version of the Dangler Beanie Boo, but instead is covered in brown sequins that flip to a gold colour. The Dangler Flippable has large, gold glitter eyes just like his Beanie Boo counterpart.
Dangler the Sloth Flippable Beanie BooNext up, there’s a rainbow coloured Flippable called Calypso the Narwhal. His brightly coloured reversible sequins are all sorts of different colours and he has a sparkly gold horn. He seems to be based on Nori the Narwhal, especially with the rainbow colouring.

I have also seen this cat Flippable floating around called Whimsy. She has silver coloured flippable sequins that change to a pearly iridescent colour when you stroke them. She looks so cute!

Whimsy the Cat Flippable Beanie BooI also found a picture of this cute little seal Flippable called Waves. He’s a kind of pearly turquoise colour, but I’m not really sure what colour his sequins are when they’re flipped.

There’s also a new Pixy the Unicorn Flippable. She is just like the Beanie Boo version of Pixy, only she is covered in flippable pearly white sequins that flip to a kind of pink colour. Her glitter eyes are also rainbow coloured.

Pixy the Unicorn Flippable Beanie BooThere is another unicorn called Sunset that is an orange-pink, almost salmon coloured “sunset” colour. She has a glittery gold horn and a fluffy pink mane.

Finally, I’ve also seen Slush the Husky in a Flippable form. He looks a lot like the Slush Beanie Boo, only his fur has been transformed into flippable sequins that alternate between blue and silver.

Have you come across any of these new Beanie Boos? If you have any information on them, please let me know!

Monday, January 21st, 2019

Today is Chillingsly the Polar Bear’s Birthday!

Chillingsly was first released on 29th September 2006 into the Beanie Babies range.

He was a cute, fuzzy white polar bear wearing a Winter hat with pom pom tassels either side of his head, which he will need today as it is freezing!

Inside his swing tag reads:

Way up where the cold wind blows
And people wear their winter clothes
I’ll be there playing on my sled
With my warm knit cap on my head!

Chillingsly was retired only three months after his release date on 21st December 2006.

Beanie Baby Review – Jaden the Cat

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

Yesterday I set out hunting for a new Beanie Boo for my collection, but instead, I just had to bring this little guy home!

Jaden Beanie Baby

This is Jaden the Siamese Cat. Although he looks like a Beanie Boo, he is actually part of the Beanie Babies range!

Jaden has incredibly soft, plush fur that is light beige in colour, except for his face, paws, ears and tail, which are more of a chocolate brown.

Jaden Beanie Baby

It is so easy to confuse Jaden with a Beanie Boo as his eyes look very similar to the large eyes normally seen on them, although there are some differences. His eyes are ever so slightly smaller than a Beanie Boo’s. Here is a picture of Jaden next to one of my Beanie Boos, Stripes the Tiger to demonstrate.

Jaden Beanie Baby and Stripes Beanie BooStripes’ eyes are about a 1/4 of an inch bigger than Jaden’s, although they are still glittery. The bright blue eyes were what drew me to get Jaden instead of another Beanie Boo as they stand out from the dark brown of his face. I also love his little peach coloured nose.

Jaden Beanie Baby Tag

Jaden has a 19th generation Beanie Baby swing tag with the word, “Original” in holographic foil, although I have also seen him with a 20th generation swing tag.

Inside his tag, he has the following poem:

Catnip is my favorite thing
I love it even more than string!

His Birthday is on 13th February.

Jaden Beanie Baby PoemI’m so happy to have this Beanie Baby in my collection, as those who know me will know I’m a huge lover of cats, and this little Beanie was just too cute to resist!

Do you have Jaden in your collection?

Today is National Winnie the Pooh Day!

Friday, January 18th, 2019

The 18th January is National Winnie the Pooh Day!

The day was named in memory of A. A. Milne, the original creator or Winnie the Pooh, as his birthday was on 18th January. The stories featured the yellow teddy bear, Winnie the Pooh and his adventures with his best friend, Christopher Robin, who was actually A. A. Milne’s son.

The character of Winnie the Pooh was inspired by a female black bear named Winnie who was kept at London Zoo during the First World War and who Christopher Robin was very fond of, so much so that he named his teddy bear after her!

Since the 1960’s, Disney have owned the rights to the Winnie the Pooh characters and re-designed him into a cartoon character along with his friends.

Since this is a Beanie Baby collector website, I have put together a list of a few of the Winnie the Pooh Beanie Babies that were released.

Winnie the Pooh Beanie Baby

This Beanie Baby was released on 1st January 2013! He is modelled on the Disney design of Winnie the Pooh. This was the second Winnie the Pooh Beanie Baby released.

Disney Sparkle Winnie the Pooh Beanie Baby

This is the Disney Sparkle version of Winnie the Pooh released in July 2013. His t-shirt has been re-designed using sparkly red fabric and he now has sparkly gold ears and feet.

Christmas Winnie the Pooh

This festive Winnie the Pooh wears a Christmas t-shirt instead of his plain red one. He also wears a striped red and green Christmas hat. This Christmas edition of Winnie the Pooh was exclusive to Walgreens.

Poopsie the Bear

Technically, this isn’t actually a Winnie the Pooh bear at all. This was one of the most controversial Beanie Baby bears ever released! Not only is the look of Poopsie a complete knock-off of Winnie the Pooh, the name is also remarkably similar! He was retired the year after his release.

What do you think of this list? Are there any other Winnie the Pooh Beanie Babies I’ve missed out?
