Genevieve the Cat – Attic Treasures Review

Monday, October 11th, 2021

Hi everyone!

In my last post, I mentioned that I had purchased a new Beanie that I’d seen based on one of the requests that I’d added and that I’d do a full review once I’d received her. Well….she arrived!

Meet Genevieve!

Genevieve is a beautiful white cat from the Attic Treasures collection! I couldn’t resist getting her!

I’ve given her fur a comb (well, who doesn’t have a bad hair day after being sent in the mail?), but now she’s back to her former glory. Her fur is really fluffy, so much so that I had to try and comb it out of the way of her gorgeous blue eyes! She has the cutest, embroidered pale pink nose and long, white thread whiskers. For the final touch, she has a little pink rose just above her right ear.

She has a 7th generation Attic Treasures hang tag (not to be confused with a 3rd generation Beanie Babies hang tag as they look very similar on the outside – see the Beanie Baby tag identification guide) and has the following phrase inside:

“Feline Great!”

It’s short and simple but suits her well, as she does indeed look like she’s feeling great.

When I saw Genevieve, I knew I HAD to have her in my collection! As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m a huge cat lover and love to collect the Ty cats. I also love her name, Genevieve. I think it sounds really pretty and goes well with her delicate features. Also…how cute are those toe beans?!

I’ve always loved the Attic Treasures collection. It’s one of my favourite product lines along with Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos. I love how they have a vintage look to them, and like their name suggests, have come straight out of the attic.

Do you have Genevieve in your collection or any other Attic Treasures? What do you think of Genevieve? Leave a comment below!

Beanie Baby Review – Stripes the Zebra!

Friday, October 2nd, 2020

Hi everyone!

As promised earlier this week, I am now going to review another recent Beanie Baby I purchased…Stripes!

Stripes is an adorable white zebra with airbrushed black stripes. He has large, glittery blue button eyes that really stand out from his white fur! His eyes could almost be mistaken for those of a Beanie Boo, but Stripes is from the Beanie Babies range.

His fuzzy mane and the tip of his tail are both white with subtle hints of black mixed in. His muzzle, inner ears and hooves are all pale grey and he has black stitching for his mouth and nostrils.

Stripes has the given Birthday of 17th January and his poem reads as follows:

My stripes help me to hide from danger
I run and hide when I see a stranger!

As you can see from his tush tag, Stripes is made from the trademarked VelveTy material which is very soft to the touch. It also has a subtle sheen to it which catches the light.

My final thoughts on Stripes are that he is incredibly cute and he has the most gorgeous eyes! I definitely think it was the right decision to go with the blue, glittery eyes. I am so glad to have this little guy in my collection now as I had been meaning to get him for ages!

What do you think of Stripes? Do you have him in your collection?

Beanie Review – Peachy the Cat

Monday, February 24th, 2020

This weekend, I decided to add another Beanie Boo to my collection, which turned into two Beanie Boos, then two Beanie Boos and four Beanie Babies and THEN two Beanie Boos, four Beanie Babies and a Ty Classic!

I started out bidding on Kiki, then I saw that Jamal had gone down in price on Amazon UK, then I found four Beanie Babies going cheap in a discount store (Tooter, Stinky, white paws Nip and another Peace bear) and then I fell in love with a Ty Classic cat called Peachy.

Today I’m going to review Peachy the long-haired cat.

Peachy is from the Ty Classic line and features luxurious white fur, airbrushed with a very light brown to make her fur appear more real. Her fur is longer on her back and tail.

Her eyes are a gorgeous bright blue colour and she has a cute little peach coloured nose that stands out from the white of her fur. Her whiskers are slightly off-white and her mouth is made from peach coloured thread.

Peachy has a slightly different swing tag from the Beanie Babies range. Her swing tag is a 4th generation Ty Classic tag, which is the same red colour as Beanie Baby swing tags and still features the white “Ty” logo, but features the word “Classic” in gold foil to the upper right of the tag.

The inside of the swing tag doesn’t have a poem like the Beanie Baby range (4th generation onwards or course), but is more akin to 3rd generation Beanie Baby tags with the name (Peachy in this case), and spaces to write “To” and “From”.

The tush tag is quite simple and doesn’t feature a name like on Beanie Baby or Beanie Boo tags. It is also made from a different type of fabric, with more of an embroidered feel to it.

I really like how realistic Peachy looks, and its one of the reasons I couldn’t resist adding her to my collection. She is slightly under-stuffed, so you can pose her lying down or sat up (pictured below).

Ty Classics aren’t the most common collectible Ty produce (Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos are more popular for collectors), however they are so well made, and have such attention to detail that Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos just don’t have (although I love them all!).

What do you think of Peachy?

Do you have any Ty Classics in your collection? Please let me know your favourites in the comments section!

Beanie Baby Review – Jaden the Cat

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

Yesterday I set out hunting for a new Beanie Boo for my collection, but instead, I just had to bring this little guy home!

Jaden Beanie Baby

This is Jaden the Siamese Cat. Although he looks like a Beanie Boo, he is actually part of the Beanie Babies range!

Jaden has incredibly soft, plush fur that is light beige in colour, except for his face, paws, ears and tail, which are more of a chocolate brown.

Jaden Beanie Baby

It is so easy to confuse Jaden with a Beanie Boo as his eyes look very similar to the large eyes normally seen on them, although there are some differences. His eyes are ever so slightly smaller than a Beanie Boo’s. Here is a picture of Jaden next to one of my Beanie Boos, Stripes the Tiger to demonstrate.

Jaden Beanie Baby and Stripes Beanie BooStripes’ eyes are about a 1/4 of an inch bigger than Jaden’s, although they are still glittery. The bright blue eyes were what drew me to get Jaden instead of another Beanie Boo as they stand out from the dark brown of his face. I also love his little peach coloured nose.

Jaden Beanie Baby Tag

Jaden has a 19th generation Beanie Baby swing tag with the word, “Original” in holographic foil, although I have also seen him with a 20th generation swing tag.

Inside his tag, he has the following poem:

Catnip is my favorite thing
I love it even more than string!

His Birthday is on 13th February.

Jaden Beanie Baby PoemI’m so happy to have this Beanie Baby in my collection, as those who know me will know I’m a huge lover of cats, and this little Beanie was just too cute to resist!

Do you have Jaden in your collection?
