Top five Christmas Beanies!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020

Hi everyone!

Christmas is almost here! In fact it’s Christmas Eve…Eve!

Today I’m going to show you five Christmas Beanies from across the Ty ranges that are just so adorable!

1. Peppermint

Now, I know I’ve shown her before, but I loooove Peppermint! She has this real minty vibe that makes her look so cute!

She has green airbrushed on her back with white spots which is a nice touch and sparkly green antlers!

2. Goody

Goody wears an oversized red Santa hat to one side and carries a large gingerbread man in his paws. It’s like he’s offering you a tasty snack. How cute is that?!

3. Nicholas

Nicholas is a cute little brown bear Beanie Boo. I just love the fact that his hat is so long that he has to hold the end of it with his paws and the white trim and pom pom are just so fluffy!

I love his green paws and inner ears too as they stand out from his brown, sparkly fur.

4. Klause

Klause is from the older-style Attic Treasures range. I mean the sort that actually look like they are old teddies that have come from an attic and often have jointed limbs. Not the newer Attic Treasures range that look more like a copy of the Bashful range made by a UK-based company called Jellycat (see my other website Jelly Collector to track Jellycat collectibles). Don’t get me wrong, I do like the look of the newer Attic Treasures, but I’m not really sure what the reason behind calling Attic Treasures is as they look too new to have come from an attic.

Anyway, Klause is just so cute and I love his adorable outfit of a long, red, velvet cloak and red hat with the luxurious green trim!

5. Kodi

Kodi is from the Ty Classic range and is so soft and cute! He wears an adorable red and green striped scarf too which is a really lovely touch. I love his blue eyes too!

Hope you’re all well and safe. Leave a comment below on who was your favourite in this list! Or who you would put in this list!

Have a great Christmas Eve Eve guys!

It’s “Take Your Cat to Work Day!”

Monday, June 22nd, 2020

Hi everyone!

It’s Monday again (Booooo!), so I thought I’d write a post that is a bit more fun today!

Today is 22nd June, so that can only mean one thing! It’s National Take Your Cat to Work Day!

I’m not quite sure where this “National Day” came from, but it sounds like my kind of day!

I’m a big fan of Ty cats (Beanie Babies, Beanie Boos, Classic, you name it!) and seem to have a growing collection of them. Here’s my latest little cutie who “just needed a home”…

Little Zip here is helping me out with the website today!

Interestingly, Zip has had four different facelifts in her lifetime! This is the latest, and most common, version with white paws. The very first Zip had a white face and magenta whiskers. This was followed by another white face version with pink whiskers. Later, she was changed to an all black cat, then Ty finally settled on the version pictured above with the white paws. The earliest magenta version is the one most sought after by collectors.

Pictured below is a small selection from my Beanie cats collection (from the right, Jaden, Kiki, Peachy, Zip, Kiki (Mini Boo), Nip and Mambo). I have more cats in my collection, but sadly due to lockdown and them being in a different location at the moment, I’m going to have to wait a little while longer to reunite them all!

Does anyone else have a specific type of Beanie they prefer to collect? It could be a kind of animal, or maybe Beanie bears, or even a specific tag generation you have a preference for? Leave a comment below!

Beanie Review – Peachy the Cat

Monday, February 24th, 2020

This weekend, I decided to add another Beanie Boo to my collection, which turned into two Beanie Boos, then two Beanie Boos and four Beanie Babies and THEN two Beanie Boos, four Beanie Babies and a Ty Classic!

I started out bidding on Kiki, then I saw that Jamal had gone down in price on Amazon UK, then I found four Beanie Babies going cheap in a discount store (Tooter, Stinky, white paws Nip and another Peace bear) and then I fell in love with a Ty Classic cat called Peachy.

Today I’m going to review Peachy the long-haired cat.

Peachy is from the Ty Classic line and features luxurious white fur, airbrushed with a very light brown to make her fur appear more real. Her fur is longer on her back and tail.

Her eyes are a gorgeous bright blue colour and she has a cute little peach coloured nose that stands out from the white of her fur. Her whiskers are slightly off-white and her mouth is made from peach coloured thread.

Peachy has a slightly different swing tag from the Beanie Babies range. Her swing tag is a 4th generation Ty Classic tag, which is the same red colour as Beanie Baby swing tags and still features the white “Ty” logo, but features the word “Classic” in gold foil to the upper right of the tag.

The inside of the swing tag doesn’t have a poem like the Beanie Baby range (4th generation onwards or course), but is more akin to 3rd generation Beanie Baby tags with the name (Peachy in this case), and spaces to write “To” and “From”.

The tush tag is quite simple and doesn’t feature a name like on Beanie Baby or Beanie Boo tags. It is also made from a different type of fabric, with more of an embroidered feel to it.

I really like how realistic Peachy looks, and its one of the reasons I couldn’t resist adding her to my collection. She is slightly under-stuffed, so you can pose her lying down or sat up (pictured below).

Ty Classics aren’t the most common collectible Ty produce (Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos are more popular for collectors), however they are so well made, and have such attention to detail that Beanie Babies and Beanie Boos just don’t have (although I love them all!).

What do you think of Peachy?
