Hi everyone! I bought this Ty Classic Shadow off Vinted for only £1! She was in need of a bit of TLC (as stated by the seller) so I took pity on her and bought her as a restoration project!

She seriously needed a good clean! Her fur had lost it’s shine and felt grubby, her white face and paws looked dirty and were no longer soft and her belly needed a good scrub!

Her paws also had a weird, knobbly feel to them and overall, she needed a good fluffing up!

First, I soaked her in a mixtures of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to try and get rid of any smells and soften her fur a little.

After rinsing the vinegar-bicarb mix off her, I filled up the tub again and gave her a lovely bubble bath and scrubbed her fur clean. Then I rinsed all the soap out!

I dried Shadow as best as I could with a hairdryer and fluffed her up several times.

I then left her in a warm place to dry fully before fluffing her up some more to try and restore the softness to her fur!

Could Shadow Be Cleaned Up And Restored?

See for yourself! Here is Shadow after a thorough cleaning and brushing!

Her fur is now silky, her paws and face and back to their original colour and now they are much softer!

I discovered after cleaning her up that she was actually missing a whisker. Sadly, her already faded tush tag could not be saved and it actually faded further, but I’m glad I could save Shadow and bring back her sparkle!
