It’s Friday!

Friday, September 25th, 2020

Hi everyone!

It’s that time of the week again! You guessed it…it’s Friday!

This week has been a mad one, but I’ve managed to get some more Beanies on to the database. I’ve mainly been focusing on email requests that I’ve received to add certain Beanies on to the site – if you have emailed me and I haven’t replied, I’m really sorry! I will try to get round to you, but I get so many emails!

The website is now nearing 3,000 Beanies on the database! That includes all Ty products, such as Beanie Babies, Beanie Boos, Flippables, etc.

The only problem with adding Beanies on to the site is that I’ve seen so many that I would like to get! There have been Beanie Babies from my childhood (I started collecting in the 90’s at the height of Beanie mania) and some newer ones that I have never even seen before!

Today, I came across this little guy and I think he’s going to be one of the next ones I want to add to me collection.

Meet Wiggy.

Wiggy is a cute sea lion with the ultra soft VelveTy fur! He looks a little like a Beanie Boo, but is actually part of the Beanie Babies collection.

His poem reads as follows:

On the pier I like to lay
Under the sun, I sleep all day!

Others that I have come across this week, via requests or just through searching are Opie (who I haven’t seen before but absolutely adore!), Seamore (for nostalgia purposes!) and Richie (a cute little beaver with buck teeth!)

McDonald’s Teenie Beanie Boos in Germany!

Friday, September 11th, 2020

For those of you in Germany, you might want to check out your local McDonald’s as they are giving away Teenie Beanie Boos with every Happy Meal!

There are ten Teenie Beanie Boos to collect, all brand new designs!

Here they are pictured below:

1. Sage

Sage is a green deer-like “thing” with fluffy yellow hair. He has silver antlers and big, yellow eyes.

Sage reminds me of some kind of “Spirit of the Woods”. I think he might be my favourite of this new collection.

2. Levi

Levi is a purple dragon with pink eyes and sparkly purple “ears”. She has tiny purple wings and a pink-purple belly.

3. Lionel

Lionel is a white lion with ice-blue eyes and a fluffy white mane. Although they do exist naturally, they are quite rare.

4. Neptune

Neptune looks to be some sort of blue ice dragon creature. He has blue eyes and sparkly blue ears.

5. Wulong

I’m not entirely sure what Wulong is. Some sort of horse…err…dragon…umm…thing? Does anyone else have any ideas what he might be? Pop it in the comments below!

6. Mino

Mino is a small, brown bull, who I’m guessing is supposed to be based on the Minotaur from Greek Mythology. He has yellow eyes and large, sparkly horns on top of his head.

7. Winter

Winter is a blue-grey, wyvern. He has green eyes and a white belly. Wyverns are a dragon-like creatures with two back legs and two, winged arms that are folded back when not in flight, or so the stories say.

8. Phoebe

Phoebe is a red bird with yellow eyes and a tuft of orange fur on top of her head. She has orange wings and an orange belly. My guess is that she is supposed to be a Phoenix, just based on the theme of Mythological creatures that seems to be going on here. That, and I think her name gives it away a bit too.

9. Blake

Blake is a dark blue dragon with green eyes and ice blue wings. I’m not sure why, but Blake the “Drake” (the name for your average quadruped dragon) looks a little like a blue Toothless to me.

10. Weiss

Weiss is a white tiger with blue eyes and tufts on blue fur either side of her face. She has black striped on top of her head and black ears. I’m not sure why, but Weiss seems a bit like the odd one out to me. Although there are Chinese Mythological tales surrounding the white tiger, they do exist in real life. But then I suppose the same could be said for Lionel, as white lions also exist in nature.

What do you think of the new Teenie Beanie Boos? And if you’re in Germany at the moment, have fun collecting these little cuties!

Introducing the Christmas Beanie Boos for 2020!

Thursday, September 3rd, 2020

Last Tuesday, I talked about the Beanie Boos that are available for Halloween 2020.

Now for the Winter Beanie Boos!

First up is Snowfall!

Snowfall is a Winter-white unicorn covered in sparkles, complete with a red and green candy-cane horn! She is a beautiful new addition to the unicorns!

Next we have Cheer!

Cheer is similar to two other hat-wearing penguins called Penelope and Gale, except he wears a red and green tartan Winter hat.

Our next Winter guest is Howlidays!

Howlidays is an adorable brown dog wearing a sparkly red Santa hat! His hat is complete with a white furry trim and pom pom, finished off with glittery green holly leaves!

And last but not least, the final Christmas Boo for 2020 is… *drum roll*…

Chimney!

Chimney is my favourite of the new Winter Beanie Boos! He is a white mouse with candy striped for his inner ears! I love his tiny glittery red feet too!

Introducing Widget – The new Legoland exclusive Beanie Boo!

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020

Hi everyone!

Ty have treated us to another new Beanie Boo that is quite unlike any other Beanie Boo!

Introducing Widget!

Widget the dog is a Legoland exclusive Beanie Boo. Unlike other Beanie Boos, this little purple dog has embroidered eyes instead of the traditional Beanie Boo button eyes.

I’m not quite sure why they went with this decision of the embroidered eyes, since the whole point of Beanie Boos was having the large button eyes, but he is still rather cute!

His Birthday is on 27th March and he doesn’t have a poem. Inside the swing tag are both the “Lego” and “Legoland” logos. in place of a poem.

Have you got Widget in your collection yet?

Halloween Beanie Boos for 2020!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

I can’t believe it’s September already! And you know what that means? It’s nearly that time of year again! By that, I mean Halloween!

This year has been a difficult one, so I know we probably won’t be celebrating as we normally would. But Ty has some new Beanie Boos in store for us all to cheer us all up a bit!

Firstly, we have Spike!

This little ghost is here to make your Halloween ultra-spooky! He’s really adorable though and not that scary.

Next up, is Radar!

Radar has a very round, hairy body and a spotty pattern for his wings and inner ears. He is not to be confused with the 1995 Beanie Baby, also called Radar.

And finally we have my favourite of the new Halloween Beanie Boos…

Pandora the cat!

Pandora is covered in a moon pattern and wears an adorable, sparkly Witch’s hat.

“Witch” is your favourite new Halloween Beanie Boo?! Let us know below!

Another Prayer Bear?

Thursday, August 20th, 2020

Hi everyone!

One of our members pointed out that they have found another praying bear Beanie Boo on the Ty Calendar!

This bear is called Blessing, and looks identical to the pink nose version of Hope, another prayer bear that was released to raise funds in the fight against Covid-19.

Her Birthday appears to be on 7th May, and i’m not yet sure if this will be a replacement for the pink nose Hope, or a completely different bear!

The poem that is given on the Ty website for Blessing reads as follows:

Ask for a blessing, and you will receive
Close your eyes, say a prayer, and just believe

If anyone has any further information on this bear, please let us know in the comments below!

Today is International Black Cat Appreciation Day!

Monday, August 17th, 2020

As the title says, today is International Black Cat Appreciation Day!

Funnily enough, I’ve literally just put Heiress, the gorgeous fluffy black cat Beanie Baby from 2004, into the database! Here she is pictured below:

Isn’t she pretty?!

Other favourite black cat Beanie Babies of mine include Fraidy, the Halloween cat (pictured below), Cabaret the fluffy tuxedo cat, Zip the black and white cat (who was all-black in an earlier release) and Frightful the Witch Cat.

For the Beanie Boos, Jinxy (pictured below) is one of my favourite black cats. Others include Potion, Witchie and Shadow. As you can see, most black cats in the Beanie Boos range are Halloween-themed.

Do you own a black cat? Or should I say, does a black cat own you?! Or perhaps you have a favourite black cat Beanie? Leave a comment below!

It’s “Take Your Cat to Work Day!”

Monday, June 22nd, 2020

Hi everyone!

It’s Monday again (Booooo!), so I thought I’d write a post that is a bit more fun today!

Today is 22nd June, so that can only mean one thing! It’s National Take Your Cat to Work Day!

I’m not quite sure where this “National Day” came from, but it sounds like my kind of day!

I’m a big fan of Ty cats (Beanie Babies, Beanie Boos, Classic, you name it!) and seem to have a growing collection of them. Here’s my latest little cutie who “just needed a home”…

Little Zip here is helping me out with the website today!

Interestingly, Zip has had four different facelifts in her lifetime! This is the latest, and most common, version with white paws. The very first Zip had a white face and magenta whiskers. This was followed by another white face version with pink whiskers. Later, she was changed to an all black cat, then Ty finally settled on the version pictured above with the white paws. The earliest magenta version is the one most sought after by collectors.

Pictured below is a small selection from my Beanie cats collection (from the right, Jaden, Kiki, Peachy, Zip, Kiki (Mini Boo), Nip and Mambo). I have more cats in my collection, but sadly due to lockdown and them being in a different location at the moment, I’m going to have to wait a little while longer to reunite them all!

Does anyone else have a specific type of Beanie they prefer to collect? It could be a kind of animal, or maybe Beanie bears, or even a specific tag generation you have a preference for? Leave a comment below!

New Ty range for 2020 – Squish a Boos!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2020

If you haven’t already, check out the new Ty Squish a Boos!

Ty announced these earlier in the year, but they are now apparently available in store. The trouble is, they’re really hard to find! I’m not sure if it’s just a UK thing, but they seem to be unavailable everywhere I’ve looked!

At the moment, I’ve heard about nine different Squish a Boos. They are all basically Squish a Boo versions of previous Beanie Boos that have been released over the years.

So far, I know about Kiki, Giselle, Dotty, Paris, Owen, Slush, Zoey, Heather and Fantasia.

Squish a Boos are a kind of squishy cushion-like toy, a bit like the non-Ty range, Squishmallows. In fact, they are very similar.

Have you seen Squish a Boos on the shelves yet?
